To those who follow god

Recommended Posts

When I stopped following god, my life improved alot. My grades went up, I made new friends, and my overall quality of life went better. In fact, a few days ago, I did a prayer to satan just to see what would happen. I got 3 girls numbers over the weekend. So much for god being kind and loving. To anyone who follows god, explain this

I am not trolling with this thread. Alot of religious people tell me that if I pray and have faith, my life will get better. When I prayed to god, my life did not get better. Instead, it got worse. Once I renounced him, my life finally improved. The religous people were wrong.

This world currently operates under Satan's system. This will be the case until Christ returns. If you are succeeding without God, it's because you have aligned yourself with a system that is opposed to him. Even Satan, when tempting Jesus in the desert, offered him the nations of the world and all their splendor. Jesus refused because his desire was to do the will of the Father. Numerous times before his crucifixion, Jesus was pushed by the masses to become king by force right then and there. Each time he refused and slipped away into the mountains to be alone and pray. Because of this, he didn't live a "successful" life by the world's standard. But he lived the ONLY life in history which has pleased the Father and he now sits at the right hand of God. Success? I think you need to define exactly what kind of success you desire.

I used to pray to god that I would get to find love and romance. 10 years later with no results, I renounced him for good. God failed

Exactly the opposite for me. Explain that.

In another thread, you said that violence against women was an appropriate method to get your way. If you have hatred in your heart, you are not free.

Anyone who does not love remains in death. Anyone who hates a brother or sister is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing in him.

Do you think this type of mentality has really improved your life? Do you think you are free? Everyone that sins is a servant to sin. Whatever freedom you think you have, is a delusion. You can only be free if Jesus, the Son of God, sets you free.

Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. I know that you are Abraham’s descendants. Yet you are looking for a way to kill me, because you have no room for my word. I am telling you what I have seen in the Father’s presence, and you are doing what you have heard from your father.

You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

Satan is the father of lies. If you have invited satan into your heart, you seriously need to talk to a preacher or a strong Christian.

I have spoken to christians, but everything they say has not come true.

I'm talking about speaking to a pastor since you have asked satan to come into your life.

Prove to me that going to god will result in my prayers being answered. Dont reference me to the bible, but give me real evidence.

If your requirement for believing in God is that he answer all your prayers in the exact way you want, then you in essence are God and not him. So why not just believe in yourself?

Prove to me that going to god will result in my prayers being answered. Dont reference me to the bible, but give me real evidence.

The real evidence is the very words that come out of your own mouth.

By your words you will be justified and by your words you will be condemned.

From out of the heart, the mouth speaks.

I know you are frustrated, its the natural outcome to an absence of peace.

If you pray for God's Will in your life, you will know within yourself you are walking in truth. The Holy spirit would minister to your spirit and affirm you as a child of God. If you were genuinely happy and fulfilled with this new power, you would not feel a need to constantly bash God and demand this that and the other. You would be at peace. However, you are constantly creating new threads about God's deficiencies. You are not at peace.

1 John 3

This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence: If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.

God has not answered your prayers because He knows your true heart, and He knows that your belief is not based on faith or love, but is conditional on Him supplying you with your demands. That is not true belief or faith. You are not a believer, you have not shown good faith. Therefore, your prayers will fall on deaf ears.

Sun Devil,

Keep in mind that, with everyone's comments including my own, nobody is expecting you to be good. The Bible says nobody can be good. What we are talking about is the state of your heart. It clearly shows conflict and strife with God. We are suggesting not that you change your external actions, per se, but rather get at peace with God, afterwhich you will naturally see the fruits of peace in your external life.

You are arguing that God exists and that you are knowingly choosing evil.

It's not enough, just to believe. With belief has to come action. People can't just say they believe and give lip service, but then do whatever crappy thing they want with no regard for what God wants. God doesn't expect us to be perfect. We are not perfect, and we all fall short. But He does expect our actions to reflect our commitment to Him. Giving lip service and calling yourself a believer, but then rejecting God's direction and God's will, is not following God. God examines your heart, your mind, your words and your actions. You would have to actually turn from a sinful lifestyle and prove your faith through action. Otherwise, it is just empty words.

Conclusion, bad things only happen to bad people.

How many "good Christians" have been slaughtered like cattle?

Nobody said that in this thread, except for you. What I'm saying is that God does answer prayer for those who are true believers.

How many times have you talked to God, and when did he tell you that he only answered believers? Do you have any proof for that or is just the rat ass way to say that if you don't believe in God you need to be punished?

Agreed. But belief still precedes works. We aren't saved by works, but rather belief. Works are merely an indicator of our belief status. In his case, I'm not worried about works yet because he doesn't even believe yet. I tend to be very harsh with my views in life, but the irony is that when someone exhibits signs of true seeking, I often act the exact opposite and be sure to not push them more than they can handle.

I hope you're being sarcastic. If there's one thing I've learned in this life, which is based on Scripture (especially Ecclesiastes), it's that there is very little connection between outward success from a worldly standpoint and a petson's spiritual status with God. Wicked people can be poor or rich. Righteous people can be poor or rich. This leads us to the conclusion that our status in this world does not matter. Only our spiritual condition matters.

God's word, as it is written in the Bible, tells us what God's position is.

God does not answer those who have selfish motives:

James 4:3 "You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, in order to spend what you get on your pleasures."

God does not answer those who have no desire to turn from their sin:

Psalm 68:18 "If I had cherished iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not have listened."

John 9:31 "We know that God does not listen to sinners, but he does listen to one who worships Him and obeys His will."

True.

I'm just putting the full message out there, since there seems to be a misconception with some posters that all they have to do is ask for whatever they want, and if they don't get what they want, then that is somehow, in their mind, evidence that God does not exist. Which it is not. The fact that God has not answered the prayers of nonbelievers or people who just give lip service but have not turned from a sinful lifestyle is because He is separated from them because of their sin.

The Christian walk has never been all about what God can "give" me, it's about making Him Lord and Savior of our lives and submitting to His will. He does "give" to us according to His will various things, but our focus needs to be Him first and foremost.

It will get worse in certain areas, because God deals with the heart of the matter.
