Artifact
I don't know about other places in the US, but here it seems like parents will sell their children to find that one last flu shot. Personal experiences: Dad tells my fiance and me to move into a hotel for three months until the flu season is over. I work at a school and fiance works at a bookstore. Dad is in the high risk group, but won't go find a shot because he assumes they've all disappeared into the atmosphere. Last Friday I had to change my schedule around so I could set up an art exhibition for the weekend early. When I call to tell my studio-mate that I have to get my work at the studio done early so I can return to work and relieve my sick boss, she says "Oh, well I won't tell my mother you said that, or she will refuse to come help us on Saturday." She is scolding me! Her mother does come in contact with other people who have come into contact with OTHER sick people. Geez. I am not even near my boss most of the time, and I am working harder so she can go home! There is more, but I didn't post this in the rant section! So, is this common this season? HokeyReligions
I ride a bus to/from work every day. I have two disabled people at home and my mother is high-risk, the flu could kill her. She had no problem getting a flu shot and hubby & I haven't even tried to yet. I'm not worried about it. The media is trying to scare everyone. There are flu shots available and more are on the way. If I get the flu, I'll survive it---done it before. Not everyone who doesn't get the flu shot is going to get the flu anyway. Reasonable precautions: don't get too close to anyone if you can help it, and wash your hands more often to reduce the risk of picking up germs from surfaces others have touched. Remember to keep your hands away from your face (I used to have a bad habit of pinching my nose when I was really focused on something, hubby is always rubbing his eyes). I think people overreact to the news reports. but won't go find a shot because he assumes they've all disappeared into the atmosphere. If he is high-risk, call his doctor. There ARE flu shots available.

tiki
The foot doctor that I work for is giving them to us. I don't prefer to have one, really. I had one last year for the first time and got a different strain of it. I'd rather save it for someone that REALLY needs it. I asked him if I can donate my injection to someone that really needs it, like an elderly person. He said hell no. Welp, that's my answer. Flu shot here I come. I feel selfish. But the news says don't panic.
Author Artifact
Wow, Tiki, the last avatar was freaky... I'm liking the change. It's weird getting scared at work, in the daytime! Anyway, yeah, no flu shot for me. Besides being pretty much healthy, I could use a few days at home vomiting and sleeping. This job is getting me down.
tiki
Haha, pap didn't like it so he made one that looks like mine and my fiance's matching tattoos. Here's a pic http://www.loveshack.org/forums/t49451/ The other was scary, for halloween of course. I couldn't figure out if it was a man or a woman.

Geez, I thought for sure it was a mad, foaming at the mouth, woman! The tattoo's are too cool. I wish my fiance weren't a weenie.
