L1ght
That's it! I have had enough of being half dedicated to a fitness and diet regime. My problem is that I essentially love to indulge in junk food and perhaps I drink a little too often as well but I do all this while in the background still managing to go running like 2-4 times a week. I make progress then I undo all the good work I have done by going on a binge and frankly I'm just fed up of it now. How many times can I wake up with a gut full of crap and basically start all over again. Sick of constantly starting over. So today is a new beginning. No booze or junk food until all the fat is gone! Anybody else want to start with me here in this thread then feel free to do so as I'm gonna log my progress say 3-4 times a week. Today I am 215lbs so lets see how much I can lose and how quickly I can get in shape with a dedicated lifestyle. Good luck to me! and good luck to any of you if you want to participate. Author L1ght
DAY2=212LB The 3 pounds lost is basically me sweating out all the toxins and fluids from my run this morning. I expect that my weight will fluctuate a little in the next few days to a week before a consistent rate of decrease occurs. My diet is very basic but it works for me. Fish salad in the morning. apple, banana, orange for lunch. Vegatables covered in sauce (I use a couple of soup sachets to make a light creamy sauce, various flavours of course) for dinner. if I find I get hungry I add a couple of slices of toast somewhere in there too. I'll see how many days I can run in the mornings consistently before I need a rest....hopefully four days then one days rest. Edited July 9, 2013 by L1ght

eddyctv
I'm in the same boat...just started yesterday, but didnt dare weigh in haha. You should add some more protein into your diet...dont starve yourself. For breakfast I've been eating 2 egg whites and 1 whole egg with some fiber cereal. Around 10:30 AM greek yogurt mixed with cottage cheese 12:30, 2:30, 4:30 a mix of chicken, black beans and veggies 6:30 a protein shake mixed with oats on workout days, chicken tomatoes and jalopenos in a wheat wrap on non work out days 7:30 lift weights, ride stationary bike on non lift days Drink LOTS of water, it'll keep you full and will flush the garbage out of your system. FitChick
Some people need to allow themselves a treat once in a while but others go crazy and over eat. Decide which you are. I need to give myself a treat, so I can postpone eating it knowing I absolutely will have it later.

(I would starve to death with only a piece of fruit for lunch!) How is your energy level so far? You might consider adding some more protein to your diet, because I don't see any beyond the fish salad (chicken, greek yogurt, nuts, protein shakes, etc.)
Author L1ght
DAY3=208LBS Just goes to show how much excess fluid I've been carrying around that the weight is flying off me right now. I had a real solid workout this morning and was drenched in sweat when it was over. The decrease in weight will become more steady soon I'm sure. @eddyctv. Well done mate. Its easy once we decide to make the decision to change and the weighing scales aren't as daunting when we use them as motivation. Yeah I drink loads a water during the day to keep myself going though I'm not sure I wanna use the protein shakes since my primary goal at the moment is to lose body fat rather than bulking up. I value being lean, athletic and agile over having too much muscle mass so I'll focus on strength training once my body is back to being athletic from the running I do. @clia. My salad and veg portions are a decent size and they generally keep me going for long enough. The salad/fish keeps me going for about 4-5 hours then I have 3-4 pieces of fruit(apple banana and orange usually) then another 4-5 hours till I have a big bowl of veg/soup and 2 slices of toast(hot sauce helps on the days where I find veg too dull). My energy levels are generally steady with one or two small periods where I feel like I need to nod off to sleep but I've been in this situation before where I take on a healthier lifestyle and from previous experience the energy levels get better the further away I am from my previous not so healthy lifestyle. The protein levels I have so far seem ok but I have more on hand if my body craves it. @fitchick. Yeah There's completely nothing with treats mixed into 80-90% healthy balanced diet...I'll have a cookie here and there or even treat myself to a pizza once a week. My problem before was massive overindulgence for 2-4 days at a time which always undoes all the hard work I'd put into to losing weight previously. Good luck people. The journey continues.
