katie79
I finally returned that peice of sh*t manual treadmill! Something was def wrong with it. My friend has one of those and the belt moves very fast! It's great. Now I'm torn, should I buy a manual treadmill or a cheap eliptical trainer? I am looking for low-impact exercise but I want it to be effective as well. Any advice on elipticals trainers? I want the elpitical trainers that look like if a bike and a treadmill had a baby....(those kind) Are these useful? Are the cheaper ones any good? Experiences would be helpful as well as suggestions! bluechocolate
I seriously doubt that any kind of cheap exercise equipment can be any good. A few years ago I bought a very expensive rowing machine - now it's a very expensive towel rack. The best exercise I get is an hour or so in the park everyday with the dog. ladyangel
I agree. When it comes to most things, you get what you pay for. I think with exercise equipment, if you plan to use it regularly, you definitely need to go for quality. It will be worth it in the long run not to have to keep replacing it. If I had a choice, I would pick the treadmill. But that's just me personally. I have back and knee problems and I seem to be able to walk on a treadmill when I can't do other types of exercise machines on a regular basis. But it's a personal thing, nothing across the board. I'm sure a pro can tell you the overall benefits of each and help you make a decision that fits your personal needs. Either way, good for you for exercising!
faux
If you live in the United States, you pay a road tax. I use the road, and go walking/jogging on the road. I get what I pay for. If you want to get exercise equipment, I would recommend a treadmill.
