pink_sugar
Just out of curiosity, I was wondering to what degree of severity does your anxiety have to be to take a toll on your physical health? My anxiety is primarily linked to stress and there has been way more stress lately than usual. Since stress kills, can anxiety take a physical toll on your body if not kept under control? I am on light medication for it, but I often feel lethargic, tired more than usual as well as chest pains. I'm working on getting a handle on my stress level as well as making improvements to lighten my stress load.
carhill
Prior to learning how to properly care for a psychotic, I found stress to take a marked toll, mainly in heart arrhythmia and diabetic responses. I also noticed a marked increase in blood pressure, particularly the diastolic. Are you getting any psychological help for anxiety management? What I learned was how to process things (stressors) differently, in practice akin to the 'box' theory often ascribed to how men compartmentalize. If the stressor wasn't resolvable, it got tabled and 'boxed' for a future time and place and forgotten in the moment. This became so efficacious that I began to extend it to people globally, not just particular interactions or stressors. Tip: When you boil it down, everything is a choice, including how one processes anxiety. Choices give you power; power over your life. Good luck.
patrol
Too much stress is definitely detrimental to your health. I suggest you work on the aspects of your life that are causing your stress and/or learn how to meditate. I suggest 8 minute meditation as a book. It guides you through 8 minutes of meditation a day and there are so many studies about the medical benefits of meditation.
thefooloftheyear
Its entirely up to the individual..Stress is a part of life for everyone, I dont care who you are... Some people can juggle a whole lot of shyt and still be leveled out...Others need therapy if they burn their toast in the morning... Its as simple as that... TFY
