Life without love is not worth living

Recommended Posts

The big problem is that I cant get any girl to be my girlfriend. I fear that I will be in my thirties with no family and all my friends will be married.

The simple reality is that many people have achieved what you seek and have not achieved. Many of them are suicidal about it because they can't figure any feasible way of getting out of it sane, body intact and still having the material wherewithal to just get on with life.

If there is no one special on your life to share it with, then what is the point? Why should I stay alive to watch my parents die off and to become a lonely old man? Sometimes quitting life is the only option

I know the feeling. In truth, whenever I have felt a sense of total acceptance of never finding someone, and stopped caring about it, I would meet someone. It can't be forced to happen on schedule. Those relationships while fun for a time haven't lasted yet.

Don't give upon living. Your family isn't dead yet. I know nothing is like romance, but your family needs your love too. Live to love them.

You're right. A life without love is not worth living.

But you need to change your perspective on love, and realise it comes in far more forms than a significant other. As another poster said, that should just be the icing on the cake.

You say your parents are your only family left. That's unfortunate, but you still love them.

What about friends? Do you not have any? I have a bunch that I would consider close enough to be my family, and I love them all with a piece of myself.

Love your pets.

Love something else you do with your time (volunteering, hobbies, cars, etc.)

It's not love you live without.

I know we're all here because we're longing to find 'the one', but taking a step back and realising what you do and can have without that is worth living for.

If live without love is not worth living according to you, why are you considering seeing prostitutes in another thread? Are you hoping for "Combien tu m'aimes?" live reenactment?

The Introvert

Life without love is not worth living and life in a bad relationship isn't worth living as well. I am not being pessimistic but with the cheating, heartbreaks and ugly break-ups going you and I should count ourselves single and free people and have faith that we will one day find good soul mates and live to tell the tale!

Off-Topic; Sorry If Offended, please change your user name I am waging a war against the devil and hopefully not against you.

I have tried to be happy being single, but nothing works. I have done alot of things and have lots of hobbies, but without someone special to share it with, it is meaningless.

You're trying too hard. Girls can instantly sense that. I told that before. It's easy to tell just by your post that you walk around with you head down and your hands in your pockets. Quit caring about what girls think of you. Be confident and strong. Then it will happen for ya.

I would rather be in a bad relationship than be single. Dogs are no substitute for human interaction. I do have friends, but many of them have girlfriends and as they get older and have families, they will have less free time. Having a family of my own is one of my biggest goals. If I cant have one, then I quit life. Also, to The Introvert, if god exists, I have a deep hatred of him and will never pray to him again.

why not? sure you can't fornicate or talk to your dog (at least withought being a bestialtist / criminal / nuts) but they offer love... and when you need to fornicate or talk to a woman you can always get a hooker! :p

you can always adopt... and just pay the hookers extra well... and they will cuddle with you at night and biotch you out in the morning for leaving the seat up and for forgetting something trivial! :lmao:

That is your perspective, of course. Most members of the animal kingdom live without love. I could say for myself that life would have no meaning without knowledge, understanding, the quest for truth, and personal growth.

You'll have to suck it up, grow some balls and come to terms with the fact that life owes us nothing. Yet stay true to yourself and keep seeking what you most desire. You may find it, you may not. That is life.

Thats a dumb analogy. Most animals are not even self aware. They are incapable of loving. You say that life owes us nothing, well, then we owe life nothing.

My point is that if I am unsatisfied with life, I can choose to end it. I owe the world nothing. If I am unable to marry and have kids, then I will be unsatisfied with my life even if everything else is alright. Ending my life means ending my burdens and responsibilities

If you got in a relationship now, and if sadly, that relationship ended, you'd go off the deep end.

I can't stress how true this is.

I once got a taste of love after being single for 7 years, and it was then promptly pulled out from underneath me. I had never experienced such an empty feeling in all my life. It literally took 6 weeks for the crippling feelings to subside. Every day I wanted to die.

During that time I did some very stupid things, that looking back comprise a host of regrets. The grip it had on me literally altered my mental state.

SD. Please don't give up. Love has a way of surprising you. Even when it does not last and is not perfect in the long run it makes us stronger better people. It is a cliché but it is true, love does not come because we will it to.

Go on living as miserable as you feel right now. We all go through periods of really wanting a relationship sooooooo badly. I don't know anyone who met a SO when they really tried. It was always someone they chance met, the online date that surprised them, or a person they knew, then saw in a certain light, and it was like they were new.

You will be surprised, but only if you live.

Actually NOW you are onto something.....

Strangers, no matter how much you will become attached to them will NEVER compare to the feeling you have for your own kid..I know its that way for me...I have one daughter, I dont care what "significant other" there is, nothing will ever come close to the feeling you will have when you actually have your own blood, DNA, etc. on this planet..:love:

The unfortunate part is you need a woman to make this a reality, or at least an egg donor..If I was really frustrated with the dog and pony show involved in that, I would do it(egg donor)...Heck women do it all the time with a sperm donor..

Believe me when I tell you this, you will NEVER be the same..

Im getting ahead of myself, just trying to give you a perspective..

TFY

Having a family of my own including my own kids is a huge part of my goals. By the time I get to my 40s, it will be too late. At that point, I am not going to even try any more. I already own a gun so ending my life would be easy

Stop feeling so f*cking sorry for yourself because ONE aspect of your life is beyond your control.

How can you honestly put so much weight on something you've yet to even experience?

If not having a significant other is the main problem in your life, you're on a pretty damn good wicket!

I looked at your posts. You have had guys attracted to you in the past. You do not know what it is like to never have been hugged, kissed, or loved. Since you are a woman, you have it much easier. Therre is a reason that guys have a much higher suicide rate than girls.

I never claimed to know what that's like.

Do you have any idea what a broken heart feels like? Because if you think you're hurting now, you've got some stuff to learn.

I won't accept that it's easier for women than men, but I also will not get into that debate again.

If you seriously think committing suicide is the way to go about not finding a partner, then you're a coward. This is probably why you have problems with women, we generally want someone a little stronger than that.

Lani, you try putting a loaded gun to your head and see how you react. A coward would not be able to pull the trigger. It taked guts to willfuly end your own life.
