I overheard a group of young men talking loudly in the bookstore yesterday evening, and they were going on about alpha males at one point. I was sorely tempted to go and ask them if they were members of Loveshack.

 

When it comes to who women find attractive, my sister and I usually have completely opposite tastes. I pointed out another man to my mother, last year, an actor - I thought he was "hot," but he didn't do it for her, at all. She actually grimaced.

I go for the geeky, smart types that may not be all that to look at TO OTHER WOMEN, but I may think they're hot.

 

I don't think I'm in the bottom....uh, whatever it was....but I also avoided Statistics like the plague while I was in college. Then again, how I think I look is only MY opinion, which is the point I'm trying to make.

 

I'm not saying evolution doesn't play a part, but in this day and age, it's not necessarily the fastest, strongest, tallest man who's going to survive. Know what I mean? We're evolving. The information age has...oh, never mind. Carry on. I'm bored.

It's more like 80/20. But the key here is going after not exactly dating or sleeping with. It's the same for men.

 

The difference between men and women however is that women are more open to "sharing" partners then males are. Mila kunis is hot but 5 guys aren't going to open to sharing her all at once. However 5,6,7,8 girls will all date Ryan gosling and be A ok with it

Usually it's kids really very young college age or high school age kids who have no idea what makes a man alpha in the real world of adult life. It ain't sports or running with a big clique. It comes much much harder than that.

"Evolution of Desire" I think, I'm not 100% on which book - but evolutionary psych uses a lot of stats to back up their theories so I don't doubt it.

Yes, I agree. I read the statistics on an evolutionary psychology piece a a year or so ago. It does make sense.

 

 

I agree. Not because I have done studies, or because I am some super smart person. But because I am fascinated by studies that take place, shows that are on TV, and articles that write about such things as this, and all kinds of other things of about people and why they do things, and what makes them tick. There are huge biases when you crunch numbers within the dating world, and especially as far as attraction goes.

 

The problem with all the push back in this thread....is that too many people that disagree....spend too much time on forums like this, too much time asserting their own opinions without broadening their minds, and too much time dismissing anything that goes against what they think.

Looks are definitely a part but personality, social status, money, and power go a long way too. Sometimes difficult to quantify but I personally think looks and social status play the largest role.

Being 26, women around this age tend to be highly desired physically by men of all ages. I know many struggling men and few struggling women. Still I empathize with anyone who got it tough regardless of what the gender is doing as a whole.

They are true Authentic Men and nothing about Obama is authentic, he was just the better choice of 2 people both elections

 

An alpha would have not needed to take "credit" for giving the order to kill Bin Laden. He knows what he did and doesnt need the spot light to win an election
