We've been approved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Recommended Posts

I'm so over the moon I can't type straight.

After living together for the past 2 years, I've finally been approved for residence (the equivalent of a green card here)!!!!!!!! :bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny:

No more applying for temporary visas every year and wondering whether I'll get them. No more wondering if any change of policy will force us to live apart again.

There's still a little more paperwork to be done before it's officiated, but that isn't going to detract from my happiness! :)

I just want to go out and hug everyone I see!:laugh::laugh:

Thanks, guys!!

I can't wait to finalize the process and send in my passport. Being the worrywart that I am, I keep thinking of all the things that could go wrong between now and then...

Unless you're planning to rob a bank, I think you're pretty much sorted! ;)

Very pleased for you Els. Living on temporary visas sucks.

Thanks, Em! Yeah, it most definitely sucks. That's coming to an end soon, I hope!

Aww, thanks, guys!

I know I'm repeating myself an awful lot in this thread, but I really do appreciate all the words of support. :)

Congratulations! I recall similar happiness with male friends who went through the K1 process with their now-spouses and how they felt about finally exiting the government gauntlet. Best of luck with your new life as a resident of that lovely little island country downunder.

We haven't completely exited yet, but the end is near! :)

Thanks, carhill. I haven't forgotten how you used to help me with travel itineraries in a time long past. ;)
