pink_sugar
Sometimes I get hunger cravings that last all day, where I am literally hungry all day. Lately I have been feeling more hungry throughout the day than usual. I don't want to get back into my old habits as I've been doing so well keeping the weight off. Then suddenly, I am hungry all the time. Thoughts?
T3h L337 d00d
Drink a healthy amount of water. Eat raw walnuts, almonds, raisins as snacks. Make sure you're eating and sleeping on schedule. Give yourself time to get into the new routine.
sweetkiwi
Drink water. Many times your body is telling you that you are hungry when really you are thirsty. Drink two big big glasses of water 20-30 minutes before a meal. Eat fruit, especially for breakfast, it is basically the most perfect food for your body.

clia
What is your diet like and how many calories are you consuming each day? Be sure you are getting enough calories and nutrients. Protein will keep you feeling fuller longer than carbs. Drink a lot of water, avoid caffeine, and when you are hungry, snack on lower calorie clean foods like fruit and vegetables.
Sunshinegrl
I've noticed i'm hungrier in the week before my period. For me, i think it's hormonal and may be the same thing going on with you. I have read that a woman's metabolism is higher burning about 200 more calories per day at certain times of the month and this may be why you are more hungry. I give in to it, and indulge a little more and just do more cardio than normal. I know, i can't help it. I have an overwhelming desire to eat during that time. I don't fight it. That's when I give in to my overpowering craving for peanut butter and jelly samiches!
Els
Coffee definitely makes it worse for me. Are you on BC or any sort of regular medications, OP? Many of them are known to increase appetite. Personally, I eat when I feel hungry, but try to keep it to low-calorie bulk food a lot of the time. Veggies, lean meat, etc, not carbs. Seems to work reasonably well. ooglesnboogles
Another plus for water. When I was first getting into healthier eating, I didn't think it made a huge difference, but after about a week I realized how much a larger water intake helped. Drink some water, give it some time, then see if you're still hungry. Another thing I did (it's cheating, but it helped me) was to put one serving of Cheez-itz, or Goldfish crackers, or something similar in a plastic bag, and slowly eat them. One at a time or so. Since the serving counts on those are typically double-digits, you can give yourself a little pile and if you eat them very slowly and methodically you might be able to trick yourself. Every time you get a hunger pang, pop one in and drink some water. Of course, you'll then have to burn off the extra 150-300 calories from this little snack. But it made my day more bearable.

krz12
Aerobic exercise like running suppresses appetite for me. Exercise takes me 30-45 minutes to get over that 'hunger' hump. The problem is that minutes 30-45 are pretty damn grueling. After that I find myself in more smooth sailing to pound out another 45 minutes.
austyre
simply answer is eat more food but the real question is what to eat?? well depends on what your current diet is and what your future diet is going to look like , I suppose a diet or high carb(fruit veggie) low fat vegan might be something to look into also people suggest drinking water is a good idea might I take it one step further and eat water rich fruits such as melons and veggies such as lettuce or celery and eating more of high veggies and fruit in your diet would be ideal but the reality is just look at making more healthy choices in your diet I read that 6 donuts and 5 banana's have about the same amount of carbs but the bananas have a higher amount of calories which one is the healthy option I leave that up to you
iris219
Are you eating enough fat? Enough protein? If I eat too many carbs, I am starving. If I eat something like a bagel for breakfast I am hungrier an hour later than if I ate nothing at all. I have to have something like peanut or almond butter or an egg in the mornings. Try adding in more fat and lean protein; it will keep you full longer. If I make a salad, I add avocado or nuts. Smoothies are a good option too. I put in almond butter and yogurt to make a filling snack. If you don't already, avoid processed foods and artificial sweeteners. There's some research that claims these make you hungry.

FitChick
Eat soup. It is very filling and more satisfying than water. I love Trader Joe's Roasted Red Pepper and Tomato. I think it's only 100 calories for 8 oz. Progresso Minestrone is my "emergency soup" at the office. Better than eating a candy bar. Any soup that appeals to you -- just read the label for calorie and other nutritional info.

veggirl
When I eat eggs benedict for breakfast (2 eggs and no bread) - I am not hungry till about 8 hours later. how do you make this? ugh, carbs are my fave part of every meal OP have you considered juicing? We juice everyday at work and honestly I am starving at like 10 AM (I eat a PB sandwich for brekkie though so...IDK maybe that's bad lol) but then we juice at about 10:30 and that plus water holds me over til lunch. Maleficent
When I'm hungry in the middle of the day, I have a few almonds and a fruit. Usually works. Also, I started having smoothies for breakfast. Not just fruit smoothies….I mix almond milk with some frozen veggie juice, frozen fruits, some cocoa, omega3 oil and chia seeds. Once I'm at work I have a greek yogourt. I have a normal lunch. I'll usually have a light supper and another smoothie with the same kind of recipe but different ingredients So far, so good.
