joe1981
My (soon to be ex) wife and I split nearly 18 months ago. Our agreement was that she would fill out the divorce paperwork and I would pay the fees. It's come to the point that this will never get done if I dont do it myself so I am now working on it. We are not fighting about anything, there are no kids, there is no alimony, property to be split, etc. The only financial agreement is that we split an old cell phone bill and some credit card bills 50/50, which is fine with both of us. I see that on the assets page it says I only need to fill that out if myself or my spouse wants alimony, which we dont, so I left it blank. What I am wondering, is do I still need to fill out the income/expenses pages? It doesnt seem relevant to the situation to me, since weve been split for so long and are splitting on good terms and with no financial disagreements. I know it sounds petty or lazy of me to not want to fill those out, but Im self employed, so some of the answers are easier said than done. I dont have set amount I am paid, or a set date/timeframe. More or less, Im a busy person, so if I dont have to fill them out, Id rather not. And I would certainly rather not pay an attorney a pile of money over a couple of pages. If anyone can help me with this, I would appreciate it.
