Why Would A Married Man......?

Why would a married man have an "emotional relationship" with someone else? His main concern and his emotional energy should be going towards his wife and family.

Why would he let himself care about another, or invest emotional time in another woman, especially if she too is married?

Because....

...his EA partner does not nag him about undone chores

...with his EA partner, he can create a whole new persona for himself, and make it one he likes better than the real one

...it's fun to have a little secret

...he avoids the hostility that has accumulated between him and his wife over the years of failing to meet each other's needs

...it's an escape

...it feels fresh and new

...it makes him feel young again

etc.

Usually because his wife is boring or didn't have much in common in the first place. There's a lot of people who get into relationships just for companionship without thought about similar commonalities.

That's why you have to be picky in the first place.

Because he can. Put DOWN the penis, and walk away.

You said it, it should be for his wife, but in reality most men are too selfish to actually be like that!!!

Hey all...let's not limit the "emotional affair" thing to us men, nor say that men are too selfish to have a good relationship with their wives. In my case, it was my wife that stepped out, not me. And looking back, the only thing I did to deserve this was to give her too much space, and make things too easy for her to do what she did. I've had as much opportunity as she did, and could have made the same choices. Guess what? I didn't. I don't like the choices she made, but I still love her. And the sad thing is, now that she's being treated for depression, and she's "let this whole thing go", it feels more and more like I'M going to be the one left with the scars.

Just wanted to say that I don't blame all women for my wife's mistake...so please don't feel like all men are like that either. The decision to stray is made by people of both sexes...

Just to clarify, I said MOST men, not ALL men.
