reddragon588
I've been in pretty good shape my whole life (played a year of D3 college football and was in shape through graduation). Since I entered the professional world three years ago, I let myself go a bit by eating less healthy and not working out more than once a week. I'm not overweight or even terribly out of shape, but I have a layer of body fat that I'd like to lose. Since the summer began, I've been getting back in the gym about 5 times a week, heavy on cardio- treadmill, stationary bike, swimming, light strength training (not with weights but all body weight exercises) and core work. I've also joined LA Boxing and have been learning boxing and doing boxing workouts. I've also changed my diet for the better- I've completely cut out fast food and soda, most sweets (no more than once a week), increased the number of homemade meals I'm eating, tried eating vegan meals more often, really increasing fruit and vegetables and drinking a lot more water. So far, so good. I've lost almost 10 pounds already and I'm moving closer towards my goal physique. My question revolves around what more I can do though. I work in an office job that leaves me mostly sedentary for 8-10 hours a day. I do stuff like walk to lunch, get up and move around for a minute or so every hour or so and drink more water. But what other tips can you give to help get back into shape with this mostly sedentary lifestyle? Are there stretches I can do at my desk? Extra dietary tips? Thank you! Emilia
Aren't you doing enough already though? I use my office job - ie sitting down most of the day - for recovering from hard exercise like boxing and lifting.
