Rick, is that what it's about in your experience, power?

 

Not necssarily but I think alot of people equate having the last word in any relationship that is ending or has ended as being the one who has the "power."

 

If I tell you it's over and to never contact me again and you want to know why and ask me why, and I never answer you and ignore you over and over again..... well, you may very well perceive that the way I ended it with you and not having given you the closure you wanted, I walked away with some degree of power over you and our relationship and I may feel like I dictated it all and kept some power over you. It's the yeah I got the last word in mentality. If you keep someone hooked, you hold a certain degree of power over them, yes??

And it's the not knowing that sucks, whether or not they perceive it that way, but if you feel like they have power over you, then voila'! They do.

The power game really doesn't get to me too much. I've found historically any time I see it become about that...it pushes me away quickly and I'll just get out....or i hope.

 

I think she meant it hoping I would reply. but it wasn't about having the last word as much as wanting to know I still care...either way...I don't really care for big power plays...i think that's what it looks like or feels like.. But the only power I care to have is power back over my own life, self-esteem etc...not over her.
