Considering making a move.

Recommended Posts

A part of me is really entertaining the idea of dropping everything and just moving somewhere and doing things over.

I don't know if it's from just being bored or what. But I feel like things have just been a bit boring and stale for so many years.

I have made some headway about really identifying what I'd love to happen in life soon, and I feel like relocating will be apart of that.

I don't know.

I think about this too, sometimes. It can be a comforting feeling to think about being able to pick up and leave everything behind. I don't know, though, I sort of feel like it would be running from my problems. I also would lose some of the support system that I have in place.

Sometimes taking time out if you can is very good to gain perspective.

When I went to Africa for a while I lived in a way that was very different from my usual life, worked for a safari company, was surrounded by people who had a completely different perspective. I had to be resourceful, deal with 'third world problems' and sometimes literally survive.

It gave me a stronger identity and it clarified much more what I wanted in life - or rather how to look for it when feeling lost.

Go for it Nate!

Unless there are major things keeping you where you are, take the plunge now!

It won't always be so easy to up and move your life to see what happens.

Where would you go? To a different country, or somewhere a little closer to home?

Honestly ive considered somewhere drastically different.

Somewhere like Florida, Chicago or Hawaii even.

Pretty much somewhere near water or maybe a bigger, bustling city.

I have always had a desire to live in NYC. It's only two hours away from where I live now, but a world away from my current environment. I like the idea of having everything within walking distance and melding into the crowd in a sea of anonymity. I know my youngest would love it, but I told her I won't move her two hours away from her dad. She turns 18 in January. Maybe I'll revisit the possibility then. It's fun to contemplate.

I've made some big moves - international and domestic - and it's always shaken my life up in a very positive way. I'm a big believer in changing your environment to get new inspiration and move forward in life.

That said, you take your baggage with you everywhere. Moving doesn't liberate you from your problems - but it can motivate you to take more chances, try new things, and grow as a person.

I know exactly how you feel Mr.Nate. I also feel that I need to move and start over. My life is stale and is passing me by. I need to do something.

I have moved continents twice, without knowing a single person there. And the people I met, the adventures I had

I never regretted it and it changed my life completely.

It's time to do it again.

Yeah. I guess that's just it.

I definitely know that my problems will follow.

And a part of me just feels like I need a big shake up in things.

I'm not in a bad position right now, but I feel like I'm not quite pursuing what I'm passionate about either. Rather, that it feels like there's some walls that are there preventing me from doing so. And I'm not quite sure how to get through them.

Maybe part of that just might have to do with going places that provide more opportunities.

This is what I'm talking about:laugh:

I know it's time for a shake up, and I'm a bit concerned if I'll do it in the right way. I'd hate to throw caution totally into the wind, but goodness... it feels like so many doors are closed right now, I'm ready to do something big.

Otherwise I feel like this cycle will just continue.

And repetitiveness kills me.:D

If you feel it will help you why not?

I'd recommend moving closer to the sea if you can. Nothing compares to living near the coast imo.

I'd like to do that too but I have too many things going on here to move. School and work and everything else, they just make it hard for me to get away. I'd suggest going for it. Or travel the world if you can and see where you'd like to settle down at.
