tiki
We leave for Hawaii one month from today. I'm getting kinda jittery, so much to do! We are having a "Luau" next Saturday night (kinda like a wedding shower)....people are wearing grass skirts and coconut bras....my male boss being one. Anyway, the transition...I'm so worried. My son knows we are getting married. But he's been in two weddings *in* the past month and I'm afraid he's not going to understand me leaving for one week and coming back and my fiance living with us. No one is going with us to wed in Hawaii. How can I better prepare him? I'm going to make a paper chain and let him tear off the days til we leave for Hawaii. This will give him a good picture of what's going on. Any other ideas? My fiance's brought a couple of things over already from his place...my son is seeing that and acting totally cool about everything. He says that he's going to marry me though. It's so sweet. So I've gotta give up closet space and make room for icky boy germs. Haha, gotta love it though.

Had a great time....as I'm sure you will too. I'm happy for you. As for your child...I believe you said he/she is 4 yo?. I wouldnt worry too much....they will adjust and manage just fine..... quankanne
maybe whoever is caring for your little one while you're on your honeymoon can help him do projects that create gifts or things for you and your new husband? Like make a scrapbook or a clay sculpture or paint a plate that both you and hubby can share or enjoy. Or work on a really big welcome home sign -- I know my grandniece who also is 4 just loves the idea of drawing stuff for other people. congrats on your upcoming marriage ... hawaii sounds positively heavenly! Author tiki
My son is four. We've been together for one year. He's got a daughter that's 6, he has her once a week and every other weekend. She can't wait to move in. We've already painted the spare bedroom her favorite color and she's got some things of hers in there.

loveregardless
yeah good luck with that clobbering! Anyway, we decided we're from the pettinq zoo, not from church. Long story. Anyway, your wedding is going to be gorgeous. I didn't know you were actually getting married in Hawaii. Sweet!
Naive
Well CONGRATULATIONS!!!! My sister is actually considering getting married in Hawaii So why are only you and him going?
Author tiki
We've both been married before and have done the whole church thing, I think it's overrated and over priced. The way I look at it, we splurged on our honeymoon and spent a few hundred on our wedding. We wed our second day in HI. Just him and I on the beach. I'll have pics but will need help posting them here.
