now i just need to keep my kids from thinking it's ok to ummmm stretch the truth until it doesn't even resemble anything that happened. unfortunately, they've already come to recognize their dad's "version" of reality as being warped.

so for all of you that realized what a mess they were and got rid of them before you had kids that would get subjected to all the drama.... congrats!!!

Stretching the truth... if there was a competition in the olympics for this, he would've had the gold

I'm finding out the the man I spent the last four years with has done nothing but lie to me. He told me that he loved me and we were going to get married.

Now I find out that he's gone back to his ex wife...the same woman that he told me was a mistake....I guess now he's telling her the same things (lies) that he told me!!

It hurts when someone that we loved and trusted blind side us by all the deception!! My ex left me about a month ago when I was at work and left a lousy note!! I heard from him when a check from our joint account didn't clear because he told me to close the account!

I know that I will be better off!! I need to move on!

Damn merin, judging from the guys here, you won't be single long!

Did you catch him cheating or what? What happened in specific? Or did I miss it? Its Monday morning, cut me some slack :)

Congratulations on picking yourself up & dusting yourself off. Strong woman that you are, I never had a doubt!

exactly the same here! scoot over and make room for me in the boat, 'cause we're in the same one!

been separated for three months, currently in the process of divorcing his sorry ass!

what is with some people these days?! do they have no conscience? how do they sleep at nite knowing that they have looked at people and lied straight to their face without so much flinching?!

my stbx still thinks that he has done nothing wrong and that he has an "excuse" for it all....amazing!

girl....

Im sorry I aint be around to give you my 50cents, but you know my opinions anyways. Im sorry to hear things aint going as okay as it should, but you're coming around, at least contemplating the idea that he is in fact "not cool" (thats the polite way of putting it). Its terrible when emotions are involved - you know how that goes with me. I'll be in touch.

Besides. It looks like if the shack were a nightclub, you'd be getting PLENTY of attention. Pick of the crop I say. ttyl M.

Scott... thank you for your kind words.. it's really helped a lot.

Jamwin (((J)) thank you for the email today... I'm doing alright, and you're such a great friend to me.. This is hard, and you know it pisses me off that it is... because he isn't worthy of any thing... I'll hit you back in a bit J.

Happy to hear you're feeling better about things. You seem to be a very nice person. You deserve a relationship with a man that will love & cherish you.

Incidentally, the fact that you're drop-dead gorgeous is beside the point. Whether one looks like a supermodel or more like Quasimodo, no one should have to put up with those things in a relationship.

Scott... Thank you so much.

Truth... no one should have to put up with not being treated right regardless of what they look like...

Sadly enough... I sometimes think, how I look was the most important thing about me as far as he was concerned.. it was what he focused on, and seemed to appreciate.. obviously all he appreciated, because it seems it didn't make any difference that I was a good person, and gave of myself to him without hesitation, or question...

Again, Thank you Scott.. I always enjoy reading your threads... well spoken and kind.

That is sad. Apparently a very shallow & superficial man. That being the case, he may never have the opportunity for a sincere & true love relationship. Fortunately for you, you know better.

I once had a co-worker who could have very easily been on the cover of Vogue. A stunningly attractive blonde in a size 4 tall. She wore eyeglasses, & I commented once on how flattering they looked on her, very professional looking. She then informed me that they were fake. She had gone to Lenscrafters, picked out a frame & had non-refractive lenses fitted. She wore them on the job to tone down her looks, because some of her co-workers simply would not take her seriously. They saw a gorgeous blonde & immediately assumed that she was an airhead. With glasses, she looked more taciturn, & more businesslike.

Interestingly enough, every woman with whom I have ever dated or had a relationship with has worn corrective lenses/eyeglasses. Including my wife and ex-wife.

Doesn't most of the US population require corrective lenses?

Hmmm... Maybe thats what my problem was/is? I need corrective lenses to see when someones a jackass and a liar? Crap! I've got less than 20/20 vision there obviously!!!!!

You know Scott... I think thats an interesting point about your co-worker... it's more interesting to me and sometimes amusing as well because when I tell people what I do for a living... they look at me like this> than they say really? then they tell me they didn't think people who do what I do for a living looked like that (me) and I always wonder what people who do what I do for a living are "suppose" to look?

Go figure...

Shallow... yes he is/was very much so.

That's a good question. I don't know.

Of people I've observed, I would estimate 25-30% have worn eyeglasses. Of course, if they're wearing contact lenses I would have no idea.

I am somewhat amazed that at age 44, I still have 20-20 vision. A few years ago, my brother got glasses. I found out he needed them one night riding with him. He was driving on the freeway about 70 mph, then commented that he couldn't wait until Monday to get his glasses, saying "I can't see past the f**king hood line!"

He then admitted to exaggerating, of course, but it was still very unnerving.

Yeah that sounds scary Scott. Well my llama requires corrective lenses (those sunglasses are prescrip.) In real life I am extremely blind but I've worn contacts every day since the age of 14 so no one would know the difference.

Are you a RN or LPN?

When doing your job duties, it would be of less concern what you look like & more that you know what you're doing & paying attention. One would probably have no idea what you look like, with your hair under a cap, a mask over your face, & wearing "scrubs". On the other hand, someone with a medical fetish might be barely able to contain himself (LOL!)!

People are sometimes taken aback when I tell them that I'm an accountant, & an Army Reserve officer. THey say I don't look like either one of those.
