What IS a LDR?

Recommended Posts

What actually defines a LDR? I have stgarted seeing this woman who lives about an hour and a half from me. We both have complicated lives--kids, work, pesky ex-spouses, etc. We get together it seems weekly for dates, and in December we have arranged a custody schedule to allow for more intimate time together. So, I was just wondering if my hour and a half qualifies so I know which room I need to vent in!

:p Hey Everyone. I think a LDR can be anything from one state over to a country over. I am involved in a LDR with someone from the other coast. But thanks to Jet Blue I can come back and forth no problem--and get my work done while we are not together. You can fly back easily once a month or once every three weeks and see each other and break things down in chunks.

Has anyone tried this?

Soccorsilly,

I would say that yes, yours is an LDR, especially when, with kids etc things aren't that easy to meet up.

I'm seeing someone atm who lives over 300 miles away. (about four hours if I put the old foot down). It's very difficult to manage this, but we meet up every three weeks at a halfway point between us both for a night in a hotel, and in December I'm off to see him at his place for a whole Fri-Sun weekend! I really, really can't wait, this will be an early Christmas present for us both.

I would say any relationship where you are not in the same city as your beloved is long distance. 1.5 hours could be considered that way as well. Also, given that you and she have so many other things on the go, it could make it tougher.

Although, I envy you that you are only 1.5 from your sweetie! I am an 8 hour flight and 2 time zones away!

Best of luck with it! :o
