dj572
I don't really care unless it's a bold color then I don't care for it. Subdued colors are ok but they do nothing for me.
MrCastle
LOL you read an awful lot into nail polish. Not really. Super glossy made up nails = tells me "I'm very girly", chipped plain nails = tells me "I don't give a f*ck" Both have their place in the ecosystem
bentleychic
My job is super hard on my hands and fingers/finger nails so I very rarely paint them. I DO paint my toe nails occasionally. I had red polish on my fingernails once and a boyfriend of a friend told me that it made me look trashy and I should never wear it again. Although I can't stand the guy, he's a boozer, a druggie and a cheater, I've never worn red polish again b/c I know I'd think of him every time I wore it and I'd rather NOT think of him if I can avoid it. 2sure
Mine are usually done, just habit really. I don't think guys really care either way as long as they aren't dirty. My daughter stopped having hers done, and she doesn't care at all. She wears mainly blacked , chipped polish. I aske her to just remove it but, I think she actually likes the look. RedRobin
List of things I don't do to my body: constant nail polish constant makeup constant pulling out of pubes I like my body natural, groomed, clean... that's it. If my skin, hair, and nails aren't glowing and healthy all on their own... I change my diet and exercise more until they are. (my profile pic is without makeup, just mascara...) These other things I'd do on a special occasion, and have never had a guy comment or ask for different. Then again, I guess I wouldn't attract the guys who like girls all 'done up' on a regular basis. I figure he's going to see me all natural eventually. might as well be up front... is how I figure.

I pretty much operate with this mindset too, and it's never been a problem, really. Lovely picture of you, btw!
salparadise
I'm not sure how many are like me, but hands are an important part of attraction for me. I just can't get around some women's hands and for others having nice hands adds to their overall appeal. I always notice. I'm not crazy about polish but soft tones or bright red are ok if she has small hands and short nails. I do NOT like long polished nails. And the worst thing imaginable... large hands and long polished nails with little patterns or decorations. That mentality I just can't relate to at all. It screams vanity, insecurity, superficiality, and way too much time and money at the salon. The best hands are small to medium size, shortish nails that are not polished but well groomed. Or just natural. I realize am probably the exception. Edited September 7, 2013 by salparadise
JourneyLady
I never paint my nails. The polish chips within a day and that's just not worth it. I keep them groomed and filed and neat, but unpolished. My toes always have polish though. But no one sees them. I just like having them painted I've never had a professional manicure, so my daughter took me to a place and had gel polish put on as a present. So far, it's lasted through dishwashing, putting together a lawnmower (complete with tools), showering, washing my hair and bumping my nails on various things. My understanding is that it will last the two weeks and that if I want to put another color of "regular" polish on tiop, I can do that and use remover and the gel will not come off.... Just so ya know. They look great actually. And they are my own nails, not extensions. I'm in the dark about how much they were though...

So pretty, shiny, and none of that wonky painful acrylic. It lasted and lasted... Came home to California and can't find a place that does it right. Tried 3 different places and with every one of them, I have gel lifting and peeling within 24 hours! Until the local salons figure it out i'll resign myself to having colorless nails, lol. ltjg45
I tend to prefer clear nails. When I see a woman with severely done-up nails, it loses value to me because I would think she would be a lot harder to get than other women. Besides, clear nails is just more sexy to me. I polish my toenails because I stare at my feet during yoga class. I would rather not be looking at ugly feet for an hour.

I swear by OPI, I get their regular lacquers and they last for almost a week, once it chips I just re-do. Comes on so smooth and looks professional, minus the expense. I have a few, cost about $7 (less than a mani) a bottle and I get tons of uses from them. I hate gel manicures, I had one once. I loved the way it looked and how it lasted for a month....but once some started chipping and others didn't, it looked hideous and there was no way for me to get it off. What a nightmare! Had to go get it removed with a buffer professionally and it did serious damage to my nails. I like to wear my nails nice and short, most of the time I just wear a topcoat and people think it's a french mani. I notice so many women who wear those huge acrylic nails with ugly colors and designs and spend sooo much on their nails and hair...yet are on food stamps. Makes me mad. StanMusial
I don't really notice either way unless it is outrageous somehow. I once observed a guy try to flirt with a girl sitting at a table having lunch with me and a few other people. He commented on her nail polish color. After he slouched away, the girl started making fun of him and calling him gay.
L1ght
Men don't think about the same things women think about.....makeup? bags? clothes? shoes? nail polish? These things are really the furthest things from our minds but I'll tell you what we are interested in. We like it when our women react well to our interest in them so I guess you could put how nail polish looks on you into this category. I mean I can remember many times when a girlfriend has asked me if I like her hair or makeup and then her eyes would light up after she heard me tell her how beautiful I think she is.......So my point is that it's not the nail polish or the makeup or even the bag you have around your shoulder that you need to worry about, its how much your guy is actually into you that really matters. I might get a manicure if I were getting married. It probably wouldn't last more than a day.

regine_phalange
I usually leave my nails nude, but when I paint them I use pastel colours. My favorite pattern is french, but I do it rarely because it's a bit time-consuming to do. I never keep my nails long because the feeling of long nails gives me the creeps. I also prefer painting my toenails. My ex was literally crazy about this colour on me. My favorite toe colour is this though.
Els
I started painting my nails recently, as I had some spare time and my gaming PC wasn't available. I thought they looked pretty, but really weren't worth the hassle for women who do any housework unless you get a gel manicure done professionally (more $$). If you can find out a way to preserve a regular manicure through even one hour of cooking and cleaning, please contact me. Toenails worked out great though neither mattered to my guy. peej
I could care less about toe nails as I am really not into feet anyways I find them pretty gross. Fingers on the other hand I really like when a girl has her nails done. I don't care if they look like a pro did it, I'd rather it didn't to be honest as that means they don't need to go get their nails done all the time. I don't know if you don't pair your nails just make sure you keep your nails clean is what I would say. It's not a deal breaker if you don't paint your nails but I definitely notice if you do. sir
In total honesty I don't care if my GF does her nails or not, I don't dislike it but I sometimes see little point. However having said that what I do appreciate is that it's what she likes and can make her feel good, so in that sense I like nail polish.
