rockstarmusician
I've just been exhausted lately. I've got homework up to my shoulders and I don't know where to start. I want to just let everything go and just cry because I can't handle it anymore. I can't seem to cry though. I need a break. I am so sick of how people walk all over me. Today I was so lippy with everyone. Maybe it's just PMS or something, but good lord. My whole body feels like jell-o. What's wrong with me?
moimeme
Could be any number of things. Go to your school's clinic or your doc and get a checkup. If you're eating well and getting enough rest you may be fighting a virus or any one of a bunch of things.
quankanne
ditto moi's suggestion -- schedule an appointment with your doctor and have him/her do blood work. you might have a low red blood cell counts or be anemic; you might just need vitamins to pep you up; your "fluid" levels of necessary hormones might have fluctuated and medication can help restore them to the proper levels. from personal experience, I know that it's taken several months of weekly b-12 shots and a mild anti-depressant to get me back physically and mentally where I was two years ago. I thank God that my internist was alert enough to recognize something was "not right" even though I couldn't verbally communicate that to him -- and believe me, I let him know when something's "off"!!! are your sleep cycles messed up? is your body getting enough food to fuel it throughout the day AND night? are you doing anything for relaxation or exercise on a dedicated basis? have you had recurring minor illnesses (colds, infections, etc)? have your periods changed drastically? have you encountered any situations outside the normal student stresses? all those things add up, and can overwhelm your body without you realizing it. Queen B
Things pile up and sometime you have to make better decisions about what you're doing...maybe you're spread too thin... Life doesn't have to be so miserable but it will be untill you take some steps to find out with your doctor what's going on. It could be somethign as simple as getting more exercise, more b-12 or more iron, it could be thyroid problems or depression. Definitely go to the doctor...I felt like this on and off for years before I finally told the doctor and was diagnosed with depression/anxiety...I got on meds for a while, went to some counseling and it made the world of difference,
Author rockstarmusician
I had blood work done about a year ago and my doc told me I was borderline anemic. Actually, about a month ago or so, I went to donate blood and for about 3 days after that, I was feeling quite lousy and sick. I saw my doctor again and she told me that I might need to get my blood checked again to see if I'm still anemic or not. With the depression thing, well, I've been on zoloft since, well, I can't even remember when I started it! I knew I was quite young though... I don't know, maybe it's just everything is getting bottled up with me and I haven't really done anything to "cure" it. This weekend, I claimed it as my "homework weekend". I'm planning on going to the school later this afternoon to work like a crazy gal until it's done. Hopefully that'll get some of the stress off my shoulders!!
moimeme
Well if you're almost anemic, then it would be worth finding out if you're over the borderline. You might need some supplements.
