OverThinker72
Hello all!! It's been 2 months since the break up and I was doing quite well. I could actually feel myself moving on. The dull ache is still inside and he is still in my thoughts daily, but doesn't consume them. However this week, which is the 2 month mark of the split, has totally wrecked me emotionally. I went No Contact the day we broke up. I don't know his number, email address, I closed my Facebook account and got rid of everything to do with him. The urge to hear his voice is killing me. I miss him. I don't cry anymore but I want to because going around with a lump in my throat is exhausting. The funny thing is...I don't want him back..Ever!!! I'm so confused. Is this normal after 2 months No Contact? It feels like I've taken a huge step back. Thanks for reading and big hugs from a cloudy London xx Edited September 11, 2013 by OverThinker72 spelling mistake.
keepontruckin
Two months is nothing. I'm at five months separation, and have just been served the divorce docs recently... I am finally starting to feel like I did before I met her, basically becoming my "old self"... That may good, or that may be bad, depending on whom you ask:laugh: but nonetheless I'm getting back to the normal "me"... And you will too, in time. You found someone once, and you will again. I did, we all did! Just be happy staying single... Worked for me the first time around, and it will work again.
Exitleft
It's 2 and a half months for me, I had a really good week last week and this week I feel like I did the week we broke up. Excruciating!!! she has asked me back since and written to me and asked for contact but I have not responded. I don't trust her and I don't want her back, but this pain is ruining me. Tbh I have had more bad days and weeks than good but for a change last week I thought of her the least I have yet so I hope that will soon become the norm. I hope. Best of luck. I am sorry I cannot help you feel better but just let you know we're in the same boat.
ruby77
5 and a half months for me and I still feel like crap right now :-( I am up and down though so I guess I should count that as progress. It just takes time, so I'm told.
Author OverThinker72
Well guys good luck to us all. We're all struggling but just by being on here shows us that we are willing to move forward however hard it is. I feel like ****e right now but it's all part of the "healing" process, which really sucks sometimes lol. Big hugs from London xx
Waz
It depends on the person and the point where your life is. 2 months it's sure normal. I think i got over mine, just a month ago, maybe more recently, and if i can tell right, i am on the 10th? 11th month? (and we were together for about 8 months only, long distance too ) Don't think this way, just live mate, all will be good
mtnbiker3000
Yes, from my own experience as well as reading many other folks - 2 months is a rough milestone. Not sure why but it seems to be. I'm 6 months NC and it is still up and down, but definitely better than before. The increases are small and sometimes hard to detect. But they are there. Just keep moving forward and one day, it will all click.
reddragon588
Yes it's normal. I still get some of these feelings at 3 months.
Calcmag
Just another adding to the chorus. Yes it's normal. I've noticed that for me the 5 week, 9 week and 12 week points were all very tough to get through. Maintain your LC and keep posting here when you feel yourself weakening.
