Untitled
While i have a high standard of personal hygeine there is one aspect of it that i cant seem to tackle properly. If i hit the shower after working up a sweat, i find that i can still smell traces of B.O. from my armpits afterwards. I DO wash myself properly so this is driving me up the wall and have even taken to scrubing my armpits wiht a nail brush...only to no avail. The only logical conclusion i can come to is that all the soaps/shower gels i have used are just no good at lifting the odour...so i was wondering if anybody could reccomend a product or method that can. Thanks.
Merin
Could be your diet, or medication/vitamins you're currantly taking

Maybe you should consider shaving under your arms. Some deodorants are just supply the fragrance, with no protection against body odor, make sure that you buy one that is an anit-perspirant. Actually, sahving my arm-pits would make the odour worse. I think it's Internal.. might want to go get a check up with your Doc and see what he/she has to say about it.

[use....my problem is that any soap/shower gel iv ever used does not lift the odour. Soap or a shower gels really do not last that long. If I take a shower tonight and get up tomorrow take a shower, and don't use any deodorant or anit-perspirant, by the time I get home "I" will know that I did not use deodorant. Other people most likely will not smell me unless I have a job working outside. My question is, do you want to just use soap and shower gels to feel/be fresh?

johan
If you jump into a hot shower directly after a workout from which you haven't cooled down, then you'll still be sweating. Even while in the shower. So right away you start smelling like you're sweating again. You could either wait 20 minutes or so to let your core temperature fall back to normal or you can take a shower that feels cool on your skin.
Author Untitled
I want to be able to break a sweat like everybody else, then have a shower and afterwards, like everbody else, have no remaining odour in my armpits. Moimeme...i think its safe to assume i dont need to see a doctor becasue the odour is nothing outstanding or extraordinary...in general, there are no abnormalities with the 'issue' other than the odour remainging after showering. I know that in some countries when people bathe they only use soap. Is yours one of them? Asking a question, I am am not being sarcastic.

johan
Excellent point. It's worth noting that penguins are not known to have body odor problems whatsoever. Why? Because they are always swimming in cool sea water. Put two and two together: get your workouts in the pool. Problem solved. Next?
dyermaker
The cool, sea water that penguins are 'always swimming in' is a different environment than a chlorinated exercise pool.
johan
Yeah. Well stock that pool with a bunch of herrings and see what happens. I stand by my initial pont. Cool off before or during the shower.

savethedrama4allama
Hey original poster, You can see your doctor and ask for a prescription for aluminum chloride. I believe its in a 20% solution, make sure to get the dab-o-matic applicator. You apply it to your underarms a few nights a week before bedtime, wake up in the morning and shower. When you first start using it, it tingles/burns some, but you quickly acclimate. This cuts down your underarm perspiration significantly and should therefore help with the odor also. (You'll still want to use regular antiperspirants.) S
