What's worst, not seeing your LDR or seeing each other very rarely?

Ok so here's the deal,

 

What would you guys consider to be worst, emotionally and for the relationship.

 

to

 

1) not see your LDR until they come back or you go there (the time until that happening possibly being long)

 

or

 

2) ony be able to see them once or twice a year for maybe a day at most each time

 

I'm asking because my LDR g/f said that it would be harder on her to see each other then have to part for long periods of time. I havent asked her recently but with xmas coming along i would really want her to be by my side, even if only for the better part of a day. Personally not having her with me at all hurts more.

What would suck more than anything is being involved in a LDR without any end in sight...

 

I would rather see the person I love even if it was only for awhile, then not at all.. but I really believe that the only way for a LDR to survive there has to be an ending point.. where both people know the distance is only temporary and there is an agreed upon ending point when you bridge the distance.
