Kaiten
I am a guy in his early 20s. I have no attachments to family or friends or anything like that. (Im very social, I just don't have friends because all my old friends went to church, and when I stopped going, they stopped talking to me) I am looking for a way to start my life completely over. From scratch. I don't have any attachments. I am about to move out, because me and my roomates house that we are renting has been sold to someone else. (Who could have seen that coming?) I havent finished college yet (don't know if I ever will) so I don't have a degree. I am going to move but I am not sure where. It literally doesn't matter where I move because I feel I can start over anywhere. What cities or states are the best when it comes to beginning anew? I have found my passion. I actually have more than one and I guess they are quite diverse. My passions are writing (currently working on getting published) Breakdancing (dancing in general, but mostly breakdancing) Coding & programming. (I just got back into programming this year. I am not that good yet but I couldn't stand programming in school for the same reason I hated writing in school: you have to write what someone else wants you to write.) This is my first time being in this situation but I don't care if I have to live in my car and work a job until I can get on my feet, I just want a new start. Does anyone know where I should begin? Your help would be so much appreciated. It's kind of scary, but I love a challenge!
CarrieT
Does anyone know where I should begin? Begin by finishing your degree. I am serious. I wiped the slate clean and re-started my life three different times. It is very hard and I did it in the 70s and 80s when there was no online presence or social network to follow someone. But starting over anywhere will only be easier (if you seriously want to do it) if you have a degree. The rest will follow, especially your passions.
Author Kaiten
I would have to take out loans to do that...I am trying as best I can to avoid any more debt, besides hospital bills...I see your point though, and I knew someone would say it before I even asked. HoneyBadgerDontCare
No one could tell you where to move, man. If I were to start over (which I plan on doing in 2 years, when my military contract expires), I would leave the country. If you're going to do something crazy, might as well make it epic. skydiveaddict
Mind sharing some of your story Skydiveaddict? I would love to hear it Basically, I started to do everything I was afraid of. I was scared of failing at college. So I went. I was afraid of flying on airplanes. So I started jumping out of them. I was afraid of discipline and testing my limits. So I joined the military. I hated my job. So I quit and started working on wind turbines. I was afraid of girls. So I started talking to them, incessantly. etc etc....
