smg15
That definitely sounds like a activity for someone 18-22
shet
In principle it is, we all know what Tinder's mostly used for (hooking up) although there's a solid spread of ages up to late thirties. I didn't even care when I started! It's a silly game! I turned it on at a friends house so we could look at some women! But it's been over 2 weeks and I Yes EVERYONE and nobody, not one of them, Yes'es me? It's ****ing hurtful man, it's paranoia inducing. I only kept it going out of disbelief I hadn't had a single match after a couple days... two weeks later still none? What the ****.
greenman77
Don't bother with Tinder. For me it was a total waste of time. I was looking for women 18-24 and only once I got an actual real match. The rest of my matches were cam girls. Maybe if I was older it would be a better experience but I used it for a couple of weeks and deleted it. I have more success with sites like OkCupid. me85
That definitely sounds like a activity for someone 18-22 not true at all…i know people in their 50's using it. It's the same as any other OLD except it's an app for locals
organizedchaos
not true at all…i know people in their 50's using it. It's the same as any other OLD except it's an app for locals I'm 43 and used it for a few months. Got several matches per week. My parameters were female, 30-43, 10 miles away. Not all ended up as dates but got many dates from it. And now in an amazing relationship with my current gf of several months that I met off it. Your mileage may vary. But it does work. Great for you! I hate how people think it's just used solely for hook ups.
organizedchaos
Great for you! I hate how people think it's just used solely for hook ups. People who say that are typically people who have no luck or experience with it.

me85
really? I thought it was a young thing since it was dealing with the phone only No. Why does it matter if it's dealing with the phone?? I've met a good guy through Tinder.
smg15
No. Why does it matter if it's dealing with the phone?? I've met a good guy through Tinder. I guess it would be hard for me to see someone in their 50's meeting someone on a cell app But I guess I was wrong

smg15
What???? I'm confused. I know tinder is something you can only do on your cell phone. So I now have a Samsung Galaxy phone and I was asking do I download the tinder app on my phone?

sillyanswer
But it's irrelevant! Because I haven't had a single match. Not one. You mean not even the prostitutes are matching you? They match everyone!
JohnM
I'm a good looking guy, I would imagine given its based on looks alone I would get a decent amount of matches. Not so. Was meant to have a date with a tinder match this weekend but she cancelled. Most matches fluff talk for a bit then disappear or don't respond and unmatch. A lot are immature and just want the boost. I would say don't use the app for a week or two. Let it reset your queues, then right swipe every single person. If you don't get one match somethings up.
nofeelings22
I think masturbating is easier on the wrist than using tinder! All I did was left swipe until I got carpal tunnels. NOBODY worth a right swipe at all. I also tried to use it more recently but found I can't anymore since I don't have a Facebook account. Beyond useless.
JohnM
Just use the yes and no buttons I instead.
shet
You mean not even the prostitutes are matching you? They match everyone! Nothing. The responses in this thread don't paint a pretty picture for me. Maybe one in 50 women on there are not to my liking, in contrast to other guys who seem far pickier, and yet they're talking about getting matches and dates. This is why I don't do OLD. This is just a testament to my bad looks, the problem boiled down to a thousand women casually swiping no. **** the world.

This is just a testament to my bad looks, the problem boiled down to a thousand women casually swiping no. **** the world. Well, that's unusual. The prostitutes aren't selecting only good lookers, the people advertising adult sites aren't selecting only good lookers, the people promoting their music record or photography portfolio aren't selecting only good lookers. I'm sure some of those aren't even looking at the screen (and are using a 3rd-party app to automatically Like every profile). Your search area overlaps with mine, and I've certainly had matches with prostitutes and people advertising adult sites in the last couple of weeks, so I'm not sure why you're not getting those matches. somedude81
At the start the ONLY thing that matters in Tinder is how good you look in your pictures. Once you actually start getting matches then you need to figure out how to start and keep conversations going with random strangers.

PogoStick
I don't know how Tinder is used in the UK but it's very common in the US. It started has a hookup app and is dominated by college age users. However, it's been filtering into middle age people and they seem to be more wanting of a relationship. The response rate is very low for men. As a 36 y/o man I get almost zero responses from college age girls. Once in a while a 21 y/o will show up and I've even met a couple. The closer to my age the more likely a match. It makes sense. I would guess my match rate is around 3%, and not all of them will bother with chatting. So I'm wasting time with girls that young, but there are not enough users if I filter just close to my age. I might be more like 10% with girls who are 28+. Assuming UK has similar usage, you're doing horribly, which means you need better pictures. Also, maybe you have something stupid written in your profile, mine is blank.
