should i contact him?

i met a friend of mine at a bar. we hit it off and at the end of the night, he said he'd like to see me again. i bumped into him the next day and he asked me to dinner that night. we had a good time, and he kept talking about future plans - we should see a movie together, we should work together, etc. since then, it has been five days, and he hasnt contacted me. yesterday,i bumped into him again and we stopped to have a short chat but we were both running to diffent classes. other details: he just broke up with his girlfriend recently. he saw me working outside once and headed my way but i was watching a lecture and looked like i was concentrating so he sort of hesitated when he was near me and kept walking without saying hi (a friend who sat next to me told me this)

 

should i contact him or wait for him to contact me? is it weird to expect a guy who is interested in you to contact you in a shorter duration of time ( that has been my experience so far)
