jimloveslips Posted October 10, 2013 Share Posted October 10, 2013 I've started exercise regimes about twenty times in the past 5 years. Longest I've lasted is six months. I'm not a group exercise person - I've joined gyms and signed up for classes and I can never find one where the other people are at the same level - they are either miles ahead of me, or all fat old women! One year I swam ever lunchtime for nearly six months - then some coach there said I had a bad swimming style and I should take this intermediate class he's professional swimmers went on - for free. I did it and it ruined swimming for me! I'm a very keen cyclist, trails and stuff, no big huge mountain trails round here - but same thing, some guy says come along to our club - everyone there told me how pathetic my ten year old $200 bike was, and why wasn't I using clips (or rather why wasn't I wearing clipless shoes). My wife is not into walking running cycling or swimming (she has a gym membership but goes once a week if that). So where do I get the motivation and dedication. Please don't just say you have to do it for yourself - I know all the psychology, the health benefits - the point is I am not self motivated - you know if there was some nice young lady with a nice round ass running in front of me saying if you keep up we can have a shower together, I'd be REALLY motivated - no young lady, no firm ass, no shower... If your goal is just to stay healthy for longevity's sake, I think that keeping up with the bike riding, especially since it's something you enjoy, is a fine option. Joining a gym isn't necessary, in my opinion, if your goal is general health (though it can be handy when the weather is terrible). Nevermind the knot heads who made fun of you. I'd start with youtube, searching for the type of workout you like and then compare the different instructors. Then buy their DVDs or subscribe to their channels or websites. I think you shouldn't let anybody tell you what you need or what you should do. In the swimming class, and in the cycling who ever these people are that come up and say mean things to you like that are just jealous in my opinion. You probably were doing very well at swimming and the coach was getting scared, why wouldn't a coach come over and say hey, can I teach you how to do X a little better to increase your performance. Coaches are supposed to help you. And the cycling guy, you should have responded with what difference does it make to you what I have and how I cycle. People these days are just so rude everywhere you go. I think you should tell your wife, maybe make a little competition between the two of you, or train for a marathon. Hey, both of you will be getting healthy together, and sexier together. Then this nice firm butt you are looking for will be on your wife and you can watch it everywhere. If you tell her your idea and let her think about it... i think she would go with you. Link to post Share on other sites
