Any city men exist?

Hey everyone, I have a question about men and their preference between living a slower, calmer, country lifestyle versus a fast paced city lifestyle.

It seems like most guys I have went out with prefer to "settle down" on their hometowns and build a life where they grew up. It seems to be the general way things are where I'm from. A lot of the girls are like that too. There are a few people who have moved to more urban cities but it seems like the majority of men prefer to live in a rural area that allows them to have larger properties, more privacy and large amounts of land.

By country lifestyle, I mean their lifestyle would provide them the opportunities to hunt, camp, fish, boat, ride dirt bikes etc. A city lifestyle would give you the opportunity to live a faster paced life, walking around downtown, exploring new areas, new food, better shopping, different events etc.

Are there any men who actually prefer the city lifestyle? If so please explain your reasons why! Thanks :)

I guess I can speak for my husbands and sons. They all prefer living near a large metropolitan city, because of the job opportunities it provides, as well as the more exciting city life and all the amenities that provides. They also enjoy the outdoors, camping, hiking, and sports, and can do all of that within driving distance of the city we live in. So they get the best of both worlds, and they are happy with that. So am I. I like both also--the city life and to enjoy the outdoors and the open spaces.

I lived near Symphony Hall in Boston for a few years, it was OK. :p I think I prefer living somewhere that gives me easy access to a big city but is a little quieter, like where I am now. Where there's a time of day I can go out and not see people.

I don't know, all the advantages the country have to offer are nice. Being able to get cheap land and everything. I love spending time in Florida where it's more like that. But I think I just enjoy the energy of getting lost in a crowd too much, and always having new places to explore and things to do. Plus having way more Boston people around to talk with about Boston. It's like having a huge extended family.

I've lived in a big city all my life. Even for an introvert like myself I'd find a small town dead boring, like living in exile. I need more people to interact with and more stimulation. I've never been interested in hunting, fishing, or snowmobiles. So I live in the suburbs. Downtown is too crowded, too noisy, and too many weirdos.

I'm less than 2 hours from Houston, can can only see one of my neighbors' houses from my own. Just the way I like it.

It just seems to me like a large majority of men prefer the country life. For some reason I keep attracting these types and I would love to meet someone who has similar interests to mine.

I'm torn between the life I want to live also. I can see the positives in both and I almost feel like "you can't have it all" and have to just pick one and go with it. Right now I'm in a 3 year relationship with someone who will never be happy in a city. We moved to a large city together and he hated it and I missed my friends so we moved back home. Now that we are in a small-ish town again I'm wondering what if. I almost feel like I'm missing out but I also feel like I should be great full for how I have it now. Low traffic. Lots of friends. Known in my community. Etc etc.

I might have GIGS in terms of where I want to live. Making big decisions is hard. I ask about men in general because it seems like every single LTR I've ever had, the guys prefer the home style life. It makes me think that maybe my perception is off.

I grew up in the suburbs, even lived in the boonies as a kid, on farms, out in the country.

I moved into the city 3 years ago, not the heart of the city, I LOVE it. I can walk to shops, restaurants, bars, etc. I can be anywhere in 10 mins.

I live about 1 mile from the "city" city. My area would have been the first burbs outside the city in the 1920s. Probably where the executivies who worked in the city lived.

I don't think I could live in the heart of a big city like NYC or Chicago, though I have thought about it and would try it under the right circumstances.
