snilljente
I am very physically active and have been trying to decide if I should have a minor breast augmentation...I would like to go up one cup size only and even things out (the right one is bigger than the left at this point). My hesitation is what other people will think of me...will they think I am shallow, self-absorbed, etc...? I spent many, many years devoted to my now ex husband and never spent money on myself....it would be a big expense, but it is OK to spoil yourself sometimes? Opinions?! Author snilljente
I thought that I should clarify..the only reason that I mentioned being physically active is that I haven't gotten leaner the past couple of months and my boobs have shrunk somewhat....they lack the "umph" they once had...I'm 36 if it matters... emra
There is nothing wrong with doing something for yourself. I had my breast done 4 years ago because I was unhappy with the way I looked. Other peoples opinions will all vary. When it comes down to it, what you want is what matters, not what other people will think. If it is something you want go for it. Let people think what they want...
Author snilljente
OOPS...obviously, I meant that I HAVE gotten leaner.....otherwise why would my boobs have shrunk? Anyways, thanks Emra....what about you guys..what do you think?
Naive
Is this question directed to men?
Author snilljente
Not necessarily...I appreciate any input..thanks
zara
i never gave a second thought to what anyone else thought. I had my BA for me and i love it. If you are doing it for anyone else's approval or you are concerned about anyone else's opinion then i would suggest you don't do it. Sorry if that sounds harsh but you need to be sure of your own mind and opinion becasue you ar the person who has to live with it.
guest
Really find out information on breast augmentation before you decide to do it. Is the difference in your breasts that greatly noticeable? No woman's breasts are perfect, not even Playboy models', it doesn't mean that they aren't attractive or nice to look at. Just ask a guy. I'm on the other side of the fence here. I work out and am thin, but I have naturally large breasts--34 D. They can feel very heavy at times. They are a pain in the neck! It's harder for me to find good fitting bras, and some dresses are loose everywhere but the chest. I've thought about getting a reduction, my insurance would only cover a small portion of it, so I'd have to save up more money. I'll probably have the procedure done at some point in my life. Try wearing a bra for a day with additional rubber/foam pads in it that would be about the size of the breasts you would want to have. You may change your mind about having the procedure done, or deciding on a different size. Just take a good amount of time to decide if it's what you want, not what any boyfriend/friend/total stranger thinks about your appearance.
sinkerswim
If it makes YOU happy...I dont see anything wrong with it. Personally, I would love a breast reduction....my boobs get in the way sometimes! LOL
250r
Just my view - unless you suffer from a medical condition don't do it. Be happy and proud of who you are and what you have. I'd be willing to bet that you look perfect as you are right now. Although I'm probably in the minority I can't stand "fake" anything especially boobs. They only SOMETIMES look better in a bra. They don't look better bare and they definately don't feel better. I can understand if you lost a breast to cancer or something else but otherwise its just a waste. I would never pass a woman up because she was naturally small chested but I would pass a woman up if she was unnaturally large. Best of luck in your decision...

Best of luck in your decision... My, how shallow?! So let's say you meet the woman of your dreams in every other respect but she happens to have had breast implants? You are telling me that you'd kick her to the kerb? Everyone's boob job is different - mine look just wonderful naked and just as wonderful clothed thankyou very much - and a whole host of happy customers would agree! But as i said in my earlier post, it's only your opinion that matters. If you only want to go up by one cup size then it won't make too much difference to the clothes you wear or buying underwear - although if you decide to go bigger you should be prepared for some difficulty here, i had to give up wearing anything with buttons up and finding a pretty bra to fit is a nightmare but i wouldn't swop for the world! Author snilljente
I did it yesterday and while I am obviously still sore, I feel like if it's what I want to do for myself, then that's the most important part...I spent years and years financially and emotionally trying to support a husband (now an ex obviously) and rarely had a cent to spend on myself.....so, while I am still in pain, I think once the healing process is complete I will be very happy. Thanks for all of your comments.
zara
Goodness, that was quick!!! Less than 20 days from wondering if you should to actually having it??! I hope you checked out the surgeon's qualifications and did a lot of reading up in that time. If you need any advice just ask and make sure you take your meds and rest. I don't like fake boobs, period! If that makes me shallow then so be it. I am not attracted to fake boobs, whats so wrong with that? I find natural very attractive, thats just the way it is, sorry if that upsets you. You just had you surgery, how can you even begin to say what they look like already - you have open wounds, swelling and bruising. To make the comment that they look wonderful naked already leaves me to beleive that you didn't have it done in the first place...
zara
if you read my post properly you'll find that i had my surgery two years ago. It is the original poster who has just had the surgery. Clancy
If you would like a man's opinion, I think you would probably like your look after getting your boobs done. That's a plus. But there are men who really, really don't like to feel synthetics under the skin of a woman's breats. Me being one. It doesn't feel good and for me really detracts from the heat of passion. It feels squishy, plasticky, and unnatural. I'm biased because I just love the softness of a real breast big or small.
Stone
I'm getting mine done after I have my baby, My boobs are extreamly large and I am getting a reduction and a lift. If you want them go get them who cares what other people think it's none of their business. Just make sure you see several doctors before you go with one and the cheapest it not the best. I have many friends that think they only want to go up one size and realize that it's to big, I personally wouldn't want anything larger than a D. DD's are to big and they sag eventually. Remember a Boob Job needs to be done over every 10 years, so make sure your ready for that kind of commitment. I can't wait to wear those sexy shirts with out my good flapping all around
Author snilljente
Well, since my breasts were a reasonable size to begin with and I was just going for symmetry and one cup size bigger, I had a lot of my own breast tissue to work with, so to speak.....it's not like I was flat chested and stuck implants under skin...which I have seen and agree look and feel hard and not natural at all. I think this subject just comes down to each person doing what they want to do and wanting to look their own personal best...I am hardly after perfection, just thought I might spoil me this time since I have not experienced a man spoiling me before...I am sure there are good guys out there, but I am not going to wait around for them to make me happy, I am going to make myself happy, emotionally, physically, intellectually on my own. Thanks for all of your input! By the way, how long does the pain and swelling last....?

NiCoLe20
how much is this type of operation? i would like to go up a size but i cant afford it... i heard they have finance plans... what amount $ would you have to put down? and what are the cheapest payments you can do? any info would be great! thanks
Author snilljente
250r....I just read the part of one of your previous posts where you mention open wounds...welcome to 2004....there aren't any open wounds.....you sound somewhat out of the loop regarding this subject. Nicole, it cost me $5300....different doctors have different payment plans/financing...or you can get a 0% credit card and do it that way...many credit card companies offer 0% for several months to a year and then you can switch to another company who offers the same. I was fortunate that I had the funds and didn't have to do this. Nicole, just ask if you have any more questions......
zara
The pain gets more bearable about 3 days in - i stopped taking my pain meds after three days. The swelling will take longer to go down, a few weeks, and even then it won't truly have settled. You won't see anything like final results until a few months in so hold back buying new underwear, or at least anything expensive, for now! Nicole, If this is not something that you can really afford then you should wait. You need to know that if there are complications, and some women do have complications, that you will be albe to afford more surgery to correct it. Also, it is true that you should have them replaced every ten years or so, and you need to bear this in mind.
Author snilljente
I made sure to get the McGahon (sp?) brand that come with a 10 year warranty....but why would one necessarily need to replace them every 10 years? Do they lose their umph? or just get weak and brittle? Oh well, by then I will be 46 and who cares, he he

Author snilljente
Size doesn't have anything to do with what kind of a woman is...exactly my point.....it's all about taking care of yourself...I am still the same person I was before Monday's surgery....I didn't do it to change myself as a person.....
