People telling me I'm too skinny

Recommended Posts

My tiny 5' tall wife just says to people, "Oh, thanks for your concern but I feel wonderful and fit. I am healthier than I have ever been." She has been the same weight since we met twenty years ago, but I suppose now that she is 40, people expect her to gain something. I have noticed the commenters are usually very unfit people. They even tell me I need to put on some pounds and asks if my wife never feeds me. In the south, those are fighting words. :D My wife is the best cook I know of, anywhere, anytime and she feeds me all the time. We are just really active and eat healthy stuff. Just stay healthy and ignore their jabs.

Best,

Grumps

Heh, what I'd do if I really wanted to make my point without saying "I don't appreciate you calling me skinny"....

Next time, I'd say "You really should lose some weight, it doesn't look healthy."

I know it sounds really mean, but if it's family I think you might be able to get away with it.

It should make them feel uncomfortable and they might get the hint.

Or, they will never talk to you again :p

My ex got this all the time at 5' 1" and almost 100lbs. The girl worked out daily and was rock solid muscle. Very strong and perfectly fit, eating the same food as me. Yet fat people would constantly abuse and harass her, even strangers at a cash register. This really upset me.

When I was in high school I was 5'11 and 140. A bit thin for a guy. I worried about this a lot.. it *was* high school. ha ha ha But I came up with a new way of thinking back then. Ever notice how people seem to get fatter and fatter as they age? My mantra turned to this........

"You have your whole life to get fat, so why worry about it?"
