Found a clever way to talk to a stranger in the library - Would you give your number?

Hello,

My relationship ended several months ago and I think I'm ready to get back out there. I don't know many people whom I can possibly date and I started talking to random people. I'm aware that talking to random people is not the most common way to find somebody you can possibly date but it wouldn't hurt, right?

 

I was in the library a few weeks ago and I just passed a note to the guy who was sitting next to me. My note had a really funny joke that I heard from my friend and we ended up exchanging a paper full of jokes. I didn't ask his number nor he did because he was way older than I am but this is definitely a good way to start talking to a stranger.

 

So my question is, would you give your number if it were you?
