Well, this went from funny to 'The hand that rocks the cradle' rather quickly. People who are unhappy cannot imagine what a happy, healthy relationship is like. For that reason, I have found it necessary to end relationships with people that are unhappy and self-destructive. Sooner or later, they will be destructive to you too.

Update:

Guess who got a phone call from Bob last night on my cell? Yep, that would be me. Left message for me to call asap...my wife says to call him to find out what he wants, but I am going to put it you LS'ers....yay or nay? Call or not call.

GBF, I would call him to make sure that if something was going to come up in the future from this that it was put to bed right now rather than letting the rumor mill get a hold of it, if she has created some drama with him and sucked you into it then it could very well grow larger in time..

Just be prepared. You should call him while assuming that his wife said all kinds of disgusting things about you. Don't be surprised if you get accused of something you didn't do.

 

But yeah, like the others, I am curious to how this plays out. :bunny:

Call him back. If you don't call, it looks like you're hiding something and avoiding him.

 

You have absolutely nothing to hide! Your wife can back you up on this - If he has heard lies or exaggerations from his boxer sniffing wife, you can tell him your side of things. that is, if that is what he's calling about.

The decision was actually taken out of my hands as Bob called me back. I answered this time, hoping not to miss football due to this inconvenience. I told him I was putting the phone on speaker so my wife could interact in the call. He said he was fine with that. I told him I wasn't asking, I was informing. He then asked me if I had slept with Joan when she was here last month. I said, "Yes, Bob, because that is just the kind of man I am." Sarcastic tone. "I know that isn't who you are, but I had to ask because she claims she is in love with you and thinks if we divorce you will leave Kate (fake name) and be with her." I told him that I had no interest in Joan. I was happily married and that I would prefer it if they kept Kate and I out of their drama.

 

My wife then told him what had happened with the boxers, Joan stealing my photo, trying to contact my work phone, comments, etc. She then proceeded to tell him in her gentle way that perhaps if Bob hadn't been a Philanderer that Joan would not have developed a crush on me.

 

Bob then says that if he had a wife like Kate, he wouldn't be interested in anyone else either. I told him to stop being inappropriate towards my wife and hung up the phone.

 

Idiots! People are so petty sometimes.

p.s. I am establishing a lesson plan for a creative writing course I am going to be filling in for a professor at a local college in the Spring. One of our prompts is going to be.....

 

The night I saw my wife's best friend sniffing my boxer shorts....:lmao:

 

My wife said "Not funny." Oh, I think it is funny, very funny. :rolleyes:

This is some story. Could easily become a short movie, with themes like messy husbands, fetishism, friendship, cheating, lonely housewives, stalking, revenge. Maybe you could give these words to your students for the creative writing lesson plan?

 

I can only imagine your wife's disappointment.... 15 years of friendship sounds like a lifetime. Joan is pitiful and unhappy, but also not a good quality of person. Or just crazy. Her husband is very yucky too.

Just so you know.. it isn't over...it might be gone for a while but this will come back up in the future..

If you see or hear of her doing anything remotely crazy towards you at this point it might be time to file a police report.

 

Once they let the crazy out it can never be put back in... just saying..

My gut says his wife coming to visit was a setup - only you chose not to take the bait (Joan).

 

I assume you won't be friends with them any longer...? Does your wife intend to call Joan to ask her what the heck?

That ship has sailed. That friendship ended with a rather heated phone call, and this was a call out of nowhere from Bob. Kate was sad, but now she is just angry.

Thanks Art Critic. Yes, I talked to a FBI agent (friend I used to serve in the military with) who deals with cybercrimes and he is talking me through some things to do to safeguard against identity theft, cyber stalking, stalking in general, etc. We also are having our phone numbers changed Monday. It is a pain in the arse. However, I believe in being prepared.

 

Of course, I worry more about Kate than myself. She is a tiny little thing, feisty, but still...makes me very :mad: that she has this much fear and anger at herself for not handling this well from the beginning and trusting Joan even after she knew of the crush. (I told her to stop watching Deadly Women on ID. :rolleyes:) I have involved my neighborhood in watching out for her since I am inclined to believe that people can be crazy regardless of gender.

 

FBI agent also cautioned me against contacting her to tell her to leave me alone. Apparently, if someone is delusional enough, they take even threats and angry contact as proof that you want to be with them. Better to overreact than not to react was his mantra the entire time we talked.

Being the Engineer that I am, I designed and implemented my own state of the art security system and surveillance when we built the place, but it is practically undetectable so Joan probably never even noticed it.

 

Who knew this is where sniffing boxers would go?
