LuvsTrucks2
LS, I know it will get easier each time it happens, but it was tough driving to work this morning to see the STBXH try to catch up to me in traffic. This really made me nervous. Anyone have any suggestions?
dumped2013
I would try to change routes if you can.
Author LuvsTrucks2
dumped2013, Thanks, unfortunately there is only one way in and one way out. I've tried adjusting my time and for the most part that has been working, this was the first instance since he left almost two months ago. I guess I need to move my departure time up a bit. K Os
I struggle with this, too, and I know how you feel. My wife moved three doors down the street (!) and I can see her car from my bedroom window and hear it leave in the morning. Great I've taken to parking my car elsewhere, and planning times and routes so we won't cross paths. It's very difficult in a small town. I had her right behind me at traffic lights just a few weeks ago. It really gets on my nerves. When you say he was trying to catch up with you, do you mean on purpose?? Author LuvsTrucks2
K Os, Yes I mean deliberately. When we were married and all was well he knew my routine and would often comment when he was at a particular traffic light that he saw me leaving the gas station. Due to my long commute, I have to fill up every morning,. This morning I was leaving the same gas station and he was at the light and when his light turned he was weaving in and out of traffic and switched to my lane but he never could catch up due to traffic being in his way, he eventually turned off to get coffee. I guess I will make sure I leave a good 5 to 10 minutes earlier for now on because there is no other route. This morning was a little out of the routine since I stopped off at the post office to put a letter in the mail, I guess this small delay mattered.
M30USA
Sounds like you live in a small podunk town.
wellthissucks
Totally off topic but for some reason every time I see someone use "STBXH", I read it as "sh*t bag ex husband". On topic - I know that has to be disconcerting and I'm sorry that you have to deal with it. Hopefully I was able to at least make you smile with the weird way my brain reads things.

K Os
Yes I mean deliberately. That's weird. In fact it could be called harassment. Driving inevitably along the same bit of road is one thing - pursuing you is quite another. Have you raised it with him? There are laws about this kind of behaviour.
Author LuvsTrucks2
K Os, no need to speak with him about it. He's as harmless as they come. Definitely not the pursuing/intimidating type. Unfortunately we live in a jurisdiction that only has one way in and one way out, we normally leave for work around the same time as one another, it was bound to happen and I'm sure it will happen many more times unless one of us changes their work hours. He was probably going to catch up to me to wave or something stupid like that.
