Who's got it? This time of year...

Recommended Posts

BLAH's.

Me! I do. :(

It's been building for a week now or so. Less than 2 week ago I was running around feeling great, in shape, feeling happy, social and spunky!

Now I have dark saggy (puffy) bags under my eyes, I feel tired, sore, sad, bored, anti social etc..etc.. With the light changes and now the clock going back an hour it'll get dark even earlier now. This time of year really sucks for me. The S.A.D is comin' to get me.........

I don't know that I get SAD, but the time change does affect me a little bit. For example, I wake up early to begin with. But it's Sunday and the clock says 5:53 which is early but it's really 6:53. Lol. The holidays make me a little disturbed too. Only due to the pressure I feel. :-)

I've promised myself not to stress out during holidays. Let's see if I can actually follow through on that though!

My usual complaint this time of year: Knowing what I have to do to ride out this blah phase. Yoga, exercise, brisk walking, eating well and having good sleeps. Problem is I'm a bit of a procrastinator and can be real lazy!! Not a good combo.

My least favourite day of the year is when the clocks go back. My whole system gets out of whack. Not so much with the waking up (I don't wake up early enough to notice it... And in fact waking up at 10am is sometimes better than waking at 11am!), but as soon as it gets dark, my body tells me it's dinner time. And not long after that it's bed time.

So I end up feeling like I should go to bed at around 8pm. Which is WAYYY to early for bed time. It really throws me and it doesn't get better as winter rolls along. Only disappears once days start getting significantly longer and the clocks change back.

I also live in a country where grey skies are the norm. I truly hate winter... :/

Have been on meds seasonally for SAD for years now. Thought I could do without it last winter, as I was in a great relationship. Never again! Got back on my med, and usually have to start it mid September to have it take effect by now.

Ugh, yea, bring April to me, pronto!
