napy666
I have applied to jobs on and off every week. But now I get a call for a job interview and when applying to this job AD it said to give them a description of why I should work for them and send them my resume too. So I did that and now have a scheduled interview in person at the place. But my question is since I already submitted my resume should I print it out and bring it to the interview even though they already have it? What should I do? It's rare when I get a job interview and I am always at a akward moment with what to do next. Hahaha
AnyaNova
Congratulations. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to have another copy stashed away somewhere in your attache just to be sure. Good luck at your interview!
d0nnivain
You should get out your interview suit. Make sure it's cleaned & pressed & your shoes are shined. Have a few copies of your resume ready & printed on good quality paper, at least 25lb linen/cotton. Tuck them into a nice portfolio. If you don't have one, you can get a fake leather one at Staples for about $9.99. Research the company & the person who will be interviewing you. Be prepared to ask intelligent questions Send a typed thank you note via snail mail to every person who interviews you. Good luck!
Author napy666
This job interview is for a toy store and I am a female not a male so I think wearing a suit and a tie is a bit too much don't you think?
d0nnivain
I said suit, not suit & tie. I don't care where the job interview is, other than server at a fast food place Wear a suit, or at least a jacket.

Author napy666
The interviewer lady told me after the interview that she was going to call the people she wanted this evening and I did not hear back from her. But my friends keep telling me to call her and by doing this it will show her I am interested in the job. What should I do?

If she said she was going to call the people she wanted this evening and you haven't heard from her, then it sounds to me like you didn't get the job.

Nobody uses linen/cotton paper for resumes anymore... it's too expensive to use for every single place you interview at. At least not for anything but Director or higher level jobs. And also nobody sends snail mail thank you letters either. They're just too slow. Nowadays, it's standard to ask for cards from the people you interview with and send a thank you email immediately afterwards. The rest still applies though -A
Author napy666
Well I never did get the phone call but everyone tells me to wait 1-2 weeks. So I will wait and see I guess. Plus with other jobs, I applied to Ross months ago and phoned the manager telling them the situation and he says "We only give interviews to those who meet what we are looking for". So I never got a call so I wasn't right for them either. I am getting sick and tired of people telling me "Oh this job will be perfect for you blah blah blah" Its like yeah but its the job's decision on calling me for a interview and giving me a job. Not just because it sounds perfect for me I will get it.
