skarlett88
My husband and I eloped in Washington State. I am Canadian, now in Canada. He is American, now back in Texas where he is from. There are no children involved, and it will be uncontested so I'd like to just do it myself without lawyers if possible. I just don't know how to proceed at all. Can someone point me in the right direction?
littlejaz
First you have to find out the residency requirements for where you live. I am in US and in my state you have to have resided in the county for 6 months before you can file. I'm sorry but that is about the best I can do as I have no idea what Canada's laws are. But I know here you can contact the court clerk to get information about how to file without an attorney. Good luck.

vanillacrow
Try legal zoom.com. Before you go through and pay, it'll ask a series of questions that determines if you could and in what state you could divorce. That would give you a starting point.
