Author Moose Posted December 18, 2004 Author Posted December 18, 2004 Thanks Beth, I agree. I did set him down and had a talk with him. Turns out his girlfriend broke up with him because she, "Heard", that he was going to break up with her......( Ah, to be young again ), anyway, that's why he wasn't hungry, and grumpy at the same time...... We made a promise that we'd both try to communicate more......I told him had I known that was what was going on, I wouldn't of been such a commando,....... poor guy. I didn't apologize to him though....so, that's next then.

I would say that this ended nicely Moose, and it sounds like your family is growing together more than you realize in the heat of the moment.
tiki Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 Originally posted by Moose BTW, any pointers? I mean for ways to tame the Son's mouth....and his siblings? Let him starve. Then nothing else for dinner/snacks. If family time is important to you at the dinner table, make him sit at the table with you then. Our rule is that no one gets up til we are all finished eating. He can still sit there and communicate/interact if he's not hungry.

Good on ya, Moose! This just shows to go another of my maxims - you never know what's behind someone's behaviour. Very often, if they are out of sorts, it means something's not going well with them. Which is why it's so important to find out before you assume that they are being deliberately unpleasant. I'm glad to hear this all worked out. Your boy will admire you for treating him like a person and he'll model that
