Monodare1
Hi guys I met up with the ex, very cold and matter of fact and I must admit I didn't feel any pangs of wanting her back, but despite her having ended it with me, I felt a bit sorry for her, don't know why. I am feeling nervous about Christmas, nervous of feeling lonely. I've been single before at this time of year and I recall it being a really difficult Christmas. I don't want to get into a relationship just because I feel lonely, but I know I'll miss the feeling of togetherness. What's everyone else's plans to beat the ghost of lonely christmas's past? d0nnivain
Keep busy. Volunteer somewhere. Surround yourself with people & close friends / family. If you do feel lonely, accept that it's a natural emotion but try not to dwell on it. Do something to soothe yourself. I used to build a fire & curl up with a blanket, my dog, a good book & a glass of wine.
alonefornow
My first Christmas alone I reached out to some single friends in town that I hadn't really seen in a while and asked what they were doing. They ended up inviting me over for dinner with a number of other friends. It ended up being one of the least alone times I felt that season. I had forgotten about how when you don't have one other person to do things with all the time, you tend to find lots of people to do things with.
Phoe
I have been single for every Christmas of my life, so it feels very normal, but even so, I get those pangs of loneliness during December, when everything is so festive and cheery and lovely, and even though I'm happy and loving the season, I wish I had someone to share it with. It's silly, but I've always wanted to snuggle up next to a fire with someone. I am quite enamored with the simple things... It always passes, and so it will, but I know that little irking thought will be in my brain every now and then this season.
dumped2013
I will have a fire in my wood stove and my cat will cuddle up with me. Hopefully there will be a football game on....
