Vent About My Self-Righteous Uncle

Known for my sarcastic sense of humor, I sometimes post sarcastic Facebook statuses. Recently, I posted a Facebook status from a favorite writer of mine, who cursed in the quote that I posted (it was a really funny quote to me).

Here is the quote I posted, "I"m definitely not a f*cking toaster." -author Jim Chaseley

Well, my sanctimonious, self-righteous uncle un-friended me from Facebook as a result. He followed up with an email, telling me that I was a gross person for posting a quote with a curse word in it. I reminded him in my email response to his email, that his daughter (my cousin) is a recovering drug and alcohol addict who only succeeded in treatment by cutting off contact from him (under the influence of her sponsor). She's now living in another country, and has held a full-time job successfully.

I responded to my uncle's email, and told him that I will never live up to his high moral standards if he's going to defriend me for using a curse word and then tell me that I'm a gross person for doing so. I told him in the email that I never wanted any further contact from him, and then I added a p.s. that I knew would really irritate him; that I was a full-fledged atheist (he's a Catholic).
