That video said nothing about "pain" in plants - I don't know why it got that title except to get views. It was about electrical reactions. But tell me, since you are concerned about "pain" in plants, what are you doing to reduce their suffering? I mean, if you want to eat meat or hunt, that's your business and you don't have to justify it, but you're putting forth a silly argument seemingly to justify it. I am doing nothing. The point is, you are killing living, breathing ( yes, plants breathe) life forms every time you eat. If you stop killing them, you will die. That is the only point I'm making. Pain and fear are useful to animals so that they can get away from the things that cause it, and try to survive. They can physically move away. Plants turn for example to light, because they need it to grow. But they do not physically move to get away from predators. They do not have a "need" for pain. Living is not the same as sentience. Why did an organism evolve to have a reaction... a waste of energy.., for no purpose? The signal has som purpose to a plant. A great being in the sky could look at out entire planet and say it has no purpose. It is here, we see purpose from the inside, but since the great being isn't looking at the detail, the pinkish and greenish gunk on the surface of our rock means nothing to the being. I adore sharks, they're my favorite animal, and I'm a surfer, so having my final resting place be in the ocean with an animal as amazing as a shark... It just sounds like fantasy to me. If you were dying I doubt you'd actually put yourself in the position to be eaten by a wild animal. Gym, hiking trails, beaches, parks, lakes. I'll be fishing, hiking, riding a bike, swimming, jogging, maybe just lounging around reading a book. Anyway, I think Phoe has good advice for where you'd find this type of lady. Have you tried any hiking or biking clubs or groups? Some of the other places might be harder to approach people.
