lilithmoon
I was raped a couple of days ago..*I didn't go to health officials until the next day when I was having a panic attack. They called the police for me, gave me a urine and blood test and sent me home with a plan B pill. Yet I'm so worried I may have caught something serious like HIV. After my so called friend raped me, he swore to me and told me not to worry and that he was clean and tested negative.* Yet my mind races and I have anxiety every day feeling like I've caught something. He didn't use a condom, penetrated for a short period of time, and didn't ejaculate.*As far as I know not ejaculating lowers the risk, but still I'm so scared. I've taken multiple risk assessments online and they all point to me having either no risk or low risk, but I'm not satisfied. I need to know. And I don't know if I can last 3 months until I get checked again.Any advice for me?is it possible I could have something so life threatening?***
Author lilithmoon
my dad says I should be okay, but also says if I have in fact caught something then I must learn to live with it...I cant stop blaming myself. And I have so much anxiety. I cannot lose a part of my life over this.

turnera
I'm so sorry. You'll probably be fine physically, but what about emotionally? What are you going to do about it? Will you press charges?
BOREDouttaMymind
you didn't report your friend to the police? start there, no? as for diseases, no one can be certain, but getting a disease from someone sexually doesn't happen every time. youre more than likely fine. you did the right thing, but you need to report your friend. message back after you've done so. have you told anyone yet?

Yes he's been reported to police and they've handled it already. Author lilithmoon
Sorry for replying so late...school has been making me busy... I'm a lot better...my tests for hepatitis, clymidia, and gon have come up negative. My doctor also said I'm negative for hiv, but since I took the test too early I'll have to be tested again in Feb. And an appointment has been set for that. My second hpv vaccine has been given and I get the third dose in Feb. I've had no flu like symptoms that would indicate any signs of hiv, but I'm still taking precautions. Other than that...I've been doing pretty well. I just finished up finals for this semester and have been going to the gym with my dad.

Author lilithmoon
I'm back you guys. I'm still waiting until February to be tested again for HIV in the time that's been passing, Ive been feeling a lot better. My parents, have been more supportive and it's been helping me out. Yet lately, I've had a scare. Im beginning to form a dry skin patch condition on my scalp. I looked up as to what it could be and it could be a condition called seborrheic dermatitis. I looked up what causes it and there are many factors that could cause it, yet the one that stuck out most to me was if someone is HIV+ they could develop this skin condition. This doesn't help me at all in trying to help myself feel comfort. I'm beginning to feel anxious again and I'm really scared and starting to stress myself out. I feel as if I need to be tested again before the 3 month mark just to have some sort of relief.. yet Im deeply in fear. I thought that I would have such a low risk of contracting HIV, but with this sign, it just doesn't help any.

Author lilithmoon
Are they prosecuting your friend yet? So sorry you had to go through this. Yes, charges were pressed towards him and he now has it on his record. He can never work with children and if a situation like this happens again with another woman he is sentenced to prison. Author lilithmoon
I'm breaking down right now.My vagina starting itching and is sore and this morning I saw a white discharge so I assumed it was a yeast infection..My mother bought me monostat to treat it and as I was in the bathroom looking at my vagina I saw what I thought was more white discharge and when I tried wiping it away it didn't come off..so now I'm crying and stressing Because I don't know what it is.It could be HPV warts, but what made things worse was my mom said I better not have HIV and now I'm terrified for my life.I made an emergency appointment to see a gyno tomorrow afternoon, but I'm so scared right now.**

Do you see soft small fleshy bumps? Although I think they dont hurt.... Could also be herpes, which is also very common. Dont worry sweetheart, whatever it is im sure its treatable and not dangerous, no matter how annoying it is. Let us know how it goes. (By the way stress can trigger a lot of these things, you may have had them for a long time but now because of stress they are not silent any more).
turnera
Sounds like herpes. Hurts like hell, but treatable.
Author lilithmoon
I went to my appointment.* My gyno told me I couldn't be tested for hpv until I'm 25 due to the fact that so many young women contract it, that by the time of age 25 their immune system has fought it off. He said it appeared to be normal mucus discharge and maybe to certain body washes I may be using. He informed me he found a cyst on my cervix, but said it was nothing to be worried about. It's benign and has probably been there since I was in the womb. All my worries now are towards my tests in February.* Most days I feel fine and am confident I'm going to test negative, and other days (mainly at night) I worry so much I can't sleep and try to calm myself down by reading things online (which in the end, don't help so much). Author lilithmoon
I've also been taking risk assessment tests to try and ease my worries. About every test I've taken says I have a 1/10,000 chance of testing positive. Some tests say 1/1,
Author lilithmoon
My gyno said I could also keep using the topical cream to help with itching. It went away after the first time I used it so I assumed after that, that I had nothing to worry about.
turnera
Sounds about right. There are lots of non-threatening things that could be wrong with you. Fun to be a girl, huh?
