Health Care and Caring About Yourself

Recommended Posts

My mom's been complaining about me and my appearance with how my skin is dry, and how I need to do my eyebrows and my lower lip and chin since they're hairy. She says to wax those but I don't want too. She says I gota look better even if it's just staying home. But me I could care less how I look even if I look like a hobo half the time. I guess my self-esteem has gotten so low since everyone on the internet has talked crap to me since I've been single that I just don't care about myself or anything or anyone really anymore.

If your mom is so set on this, have her spring for a facial for you (to include eyebrow arching and waxing of those pesky areas). Win win.

It's not going to help your chances at either a job OR a relationship to lay around and let yourself go. You're in a serious rut, and not doing simple upkeep is driving you further into the hole.

Get a makeover, get dressed up and look at yourself in the mirror. Take a picture so you can refer back to it when you start to let yourself slide.

I would not like hair on girl.

Its impossible to look good every single day, its too much to ask, but I would like that *my* girl knows the routine.

Using moisturizer will help in the long run, lessening wrinkles. Your mother seems to know what she is saying. Is she good looking? You could borrow her moisturizer, or ask her a suggestion. You know all those treatments cost a lot of money, and she is basically opening a wallet for you. Lucky you.

It's your choice what you do in the way of grooming. I suppose the main issue is whether you are making the choices you are at the moment because they are your preference or because you don't feel you are worth taking any trouble over. If it's the latter, it does sound like depression and maybe seeing your doctor or counselling could help. Depression can trigger a vicious circle as, if you neglect yourself, others will sense that you are doing that and wonder what's wrong. People pick up on things regardless. The most important thing is that you are happy and at peace with yourself. If you are not happy, please see your doctor to get some help to improve the way you are feeling about yourself.

Well then, do a little just for yourself. A haircut, the facial, a manicure. Waxing only hurts for a second, LOL! Generic moisturizers are very affordable. Get out of those grubby clothes and walk the malls. Get your picture taken with Santa. DO something. ANYTHING! It'll make your mom happy if nothing else!
