WhoreyBull
I am trying to lose some weight but I have lost my appetite for many foods. These days all I can eat is broccoli, potatoes, carrots, rice, and some days corn. Although now I only eat veggies I am still gaining, which I think is due to not having a balanced diet. I plan on going to a doctor when I get back to canada, but to go now would be so expensive. Has anyone else had this issue? What was the cause?
ascendotum
Could be lots of things why you have lost your appetite. I have had periods when I have poor appetite but then I was suffering from CFS, so it was related to infection, poor health. In your case I would not see a doctor yet, but just modify your diet. You are on a very limited diet. For instance you could be low in zinc, iron, Vit-b12 straight off with that diet which would all impact on your appetite. Don't restrict your food intake to such an extreme for dieting. Its not sustainable. You just end up on a yoyo weight/diet lifestyle which so many people have discovered is a fail. Just modify your diet as part of a long term approach.
Elias33
The cause may be unbalanced diet. It seems to lack of fats and proteins. Do you have an exercise program?
regine_phalange
Maybe you have low iron. Also your diet seems very unbalanced. I agree with Elias33, you don't have any protein or fat in it. Careful not to bring your body into a state of "starvation" and make your metabolism really low. These days I also watch my diet; I eat lean protein, a bit of fat (olive oil, peanut butter, tahini), a bit of carbs (by whole grains or potatoes), fruits, veggies, dried nuts. Drinking at least 1.5 liter of water daily. And every Saturday I have a cheat junky meal. Lost 2 kgs in 3 weeks. 5 to go, and I am really enjoying my food. My brother did the same thing combined with HIIT, and lost 20 kgs.

If you're eating a whole foods diet of just those foods, you're getting enough protein. See The Starch Solution by Dr. McDougall. You don't need to add fats, meat, or even beans.
