finalf72
alright heres my issue. when im talking with people i cant keep eye contact with them. IF i do, i get all shy and look another direction. i almost never make any eye contact at all. This is bad because its making me look like im not paying attention to the person im talking with even though i am and im interested in what they have to say! how do i overcome this? Barby
Sounds like you need to work on your self esteem. You should probably practice on someone you feel comfortable with or if not make contact with people in public places (even if you're not really interested in talking to them) practice and keep the eye contact. It's worth a try I'd think!
alphamale
there are certain cultures that de-emphasize direct eye contact. African American and Asian cultures are two that use less eye contact. do you belong to either of these two? Caucasian european-based people tend to place more importance on direct eye contact.
