Im' 27(f) and he's 30 (M) We met through mutual friends when I was 15 and he was 18, abroad when two groups of friends were on holiday. I had a huge crush on him back then and probably was pretty obvious about it as a young happy go lucky girl. Nothing came off it and you could very well say he probably was scared by me haha. We lost contact and I dated my first boyfriend at 17 - 22, then found each other again on facebook and remained friends. I worked abroad for 2 years and I have had my single life and short dates and he was in a 2 year relationship with a co worker. Fast forward to sept 2012 I met him again for the first time after 10 years at a mutual friends wedding and it was love at first sight again, all the feelings came back and I was pretty sure he was staring too. However I was with my now ex-boyfriend on the verge of breaking up then so nothing happened. Fast forward to May 2013 we started talking as friends and in July 2013 we finally went on our first date, it was great but now that I come to think about it I should've made it more clear and dropped my pride a bit... Anyway he had family problems recent years at home and so when I expressed that I was interested in him he said he was not ready, which was perfectly fine, but I felt he backed off a little. Fast forward a little in Aug 2013 one of his best mates started saying he could help us when we first started chatting in fb and he was eagerly trying to help, which back then I thought nothing of it, but now thinking back it was a bit odd as everything came from his mouth (maybe a little sh*t-stir) and I don't normally doubt people when they tell me things, and he liked to tell me alot about his best mate (the one I like), anyway fast forward a lil more I realised he was doing a bit too much for a "friend" i.e. me, so I backed off and havn't spoken to him since couple months ago, but main thing is the one I'm interested in also didnt talk to me shortly after his mate started to chat to me. Now finally after all that past Sunday we saw each other again at a mutual friends party, there was definitely eye contact and making himself stand deliberately in front of me, follow my conversation and tease me with other friends and of course the good bye hugs, but privately he wouldn't reply in messages anymore (although I never quite ask him questions anymore since he rejected me, I tried to keep it friendly talk), its more friendly random stuff like "I heard a xx film is awesome!" lol As you may have realised I have actually shortened this alot, but question is I realised I still really like him, and since we're both still single and not dead, and still hang around the same friend circle, maybe I should drop my pride a bit more to my high school self and try again or shall I just give up? He's a combination of shy and high ego/pride individual, and I'm considered attractive and maybe a little blunt with words but nonetheless straightforward, friendly and smiley. Maybe a little mellow/quiet now. (Once again please bear with me as this is shortened alot ) Any feedback and questions appreciated, thanks! Link to post Share on other sites
