These things happen slowly, usually on there own. If she is younger it will happen quicker. Concentrate on being supportive of her and giving her time and rest to recover rather than wanting her body they way you want it now. Your son needs her at the moment and his needs should take priority. having a baby is tough on the body. It's apparently a natural trait of a mother who's nursing..... Unless your wife point blank asks you about exercise, don't mention it. she's having huge self esteem issues right now. You will make things worse by offering suggestions. Trust me, the energy she will expend will help - but the housekeeping, tidying, dusting, cleaning and cooking will all take a back seat. And rightly so..... They will probably become your duties.... I really don't think new parents can ever fully appreciate just what a difference their child will make to their lives. Just be a drone and be supportive, it's what us men are always expected to do, never be critical about anything or say otherwise even if she instigated the question and you're just asking...chances are she may have just been revealing an insecurity and just wanted you to say it's ok. I adopted a regular routine of walking 40 minutes a day 5 days a week and saw a good 20 pound drop over the course of a year. As well as a firm belly. Yoga is great to add as well.
