Thegreatestthing
There's got to be some reason why he looks so much like the symbolic Jesus. Edited December 19, 2013 by Thegreatestthing
HokeyReligions
Hmm. More like Charles Manson.
FitChick
I adore Russell and think he is widely misunderstood by people who are not fans who don't know this spiritual side of him. Thank you so much for that link. He is so much more intelligent and self aware than any of the people interviewing him in that video montage. His mind goes a mile a minute and his mouth struggles to keep up. I can see him withdrawing from public life in the future to lead a spiritual life of meditation, teaching and writing. Taramere
There's got to be some reason why he looks so much like the symbolic Jesus. I think humanity has a big problem if somebody like Russell Brand is a new type of Jesus. Author Thegreatestthing
I don't think he ever said he was a perfect human. Being,he even says in the video he recognises his flaws as the flaws within every human heart.

Being,he even says in the video he recognises his flaws as the flaws within every human heart. Not trying to be a contrarian here, but I'm at an absolute loss as to why anybody would regard Russell Brand as some sort of spiritual saviour/guru. Are you part of some sort of Russell Brand PR machine tasked with getting people to talk about him? If not, what on earth am I missing here? All I see is a chatterbox with a beard, lots of teeth and the starry eyed gaze commonly associated with narcissism.

ThaWholigan
Russell Brand is just a comedian. He's very funny, insightful and intelligent - if a little brash and occasionally a bit of a twat (I used to hate this guy when he was first on TV over here). He's not Jesus, and he's not a guru. Just a man with a brain who happens to be famous and is pretty funny. Let's not go overboard here . I admire the direction in which he's taking his life, and sometimes I think he has a point, but that's about as far as it goes.
Taramere
Not really surprised.busy looking at the messenger and not the message. Since the question was "is Russell Brand a new type of Jesus" examining the messenger to see how his behaviour shapes up in comparison with the saviour of humanity seems a fairly reasonable reaction.
