THink I saw a post about this in the past, would you see a woman with an online dating profile posing with automatic weapons and her firing one off at a firing range kind of a red flag if not a red flag, is she trying to "send a message" to the men out there?

Of course, she may have been doing it for fun at a firing range, but she had an additional photo of her posing with a automatic weapon..with a smirk on her face.

I am sure she gets messaged by a lot of NRA members.

Wow! That's interesting. Well, a picture does say a lot about people. Seems like that would be something you'd save for the first date or two. OTOH, if she's super serious about hunting, then I guess she'd want to screen out guys who aren't into that.

I don't tell people I ride motorcycles anymore. There is no shortage of men who ride, so it's not like I need to advertise.

And the ones who don't ride, get the idea that I've got a ton of tattoos, have a checkered past, or something else unsavory. So I don't bother anymore.

How do you know it was an automatic and not a semi-automatic. :p If she's got a full auto license she's one serious gun nut.

What's wrong with that? If you're not into guns don't contact her. Saves both of you time and effort.

If I was doing online dating, providing she ticked other boxes id message her - I think that makes her stand out (which is a good tactic) and shows the sort of hobbies shes got (which will help attract like minded and get rid of people you wouldn't get on with anyway)

I think that's wicked - she must be kind of outdoorsy, which for me is a big must.

I can't really shoot - other than a paintball gun or a bb gun, though I've had a go with a rifle once or twice. I'd be up for getting better if she wanted to teach me!

If she was holding a paintball gun though - music to my ears!!

RedRobin rides! Damn!

Now I'm wondering... nah, couldn't be. What are the odds?

Maybe it's Ted Nugent's sister.

Well chances are, as with most online dating photos, they usually post a picture of them doing something they've only tried once or rarely do just for show.

No. Lethal weapons and dating are two things that should be kept in verrrrrrrry separate parts of our lives. It's possible she is just showing one of her interests, or it's possible she's a crazy gun nut redneck with a quick trigger finger who likes to boast that she could get away with murder because she can claim it was self defense and the police would believe her because she a little woman and I am much bigger than her. I've dated the latter, and that was definitely one of the red flags that ended my interest in her reallllll quick!

Gun nuts are weird. For my work (yacht charters, where you can't call police), i have a tactical shotgun and a MAC-10. These are safety equipment just like the life raft.

On land, I use non lethal means of protection.

People who are too into guns, without a good reason, seem a little off to me. So I pass right by anyone with guns in their profile. To me, guns are a tool, not a toy.

Yeah, I can understand if you have ONE picture of you firing off a weapon at a range...but this woman had 3. One was a handgun (at the range) the other with a semi-or full auto rifle with a scope. The "Smirk" she had on her face was a bit rather unnerving.

If to clue you in she considers herself a "Sarah Palin" wanna-be w/o the Alaskan accent. A "Tea party Patriot" as she puts it in her profile. She's an over 40 single mother and local church administrator.

So to enlighten you, maybe that'll clue you in on her personality type. lol

Well, she's laying it all out on the line - you have to give her that.

I agree with Woggle. It sounds like the message she's giving out is "non NRA members need not apply."

Wow.... lol.

I didn't know my mother had an O.L.D. profile! ha ha ha

Anything in there about only understanding the world by watching Fox News? ;)

Well, that's really all you need to know isn't it? If not, ask her if she believes that Jesus rode dinosaurs. Too bad the lovelies with sex on their brains aren't quite so forthcoming. They should all wear t-shirts indicating their predispositions.

Do you know for sure it was an automatic? If it was a tommy gun, Im jealous.

Maybe shes trying to attract fellow gun lovers.

At least I know she's pro 2A and hopefully not a libtard.

A Libertarian...she said that in her profile. (Is that the same as a Liberal?)

I'd say we'd have a mutual interest, though I'd surely be interested in her FFL/provenance for an automatic weapon, presuming she owned it. I think a first date at the peace officer's range would be fun. I admire a woman who can handle weapons with confidence.

They tend to be socially liberal but very anti-government. Is she a Ron Paul supporter?

Oooh! Libertarian! Sexy! That might make up for the gun pics. :)

If I saw that I'd think someone was trying too hard to project an image of themselves as a tough guy/gal. It would seem kind of pathetic to me.

Yeah, and it kind of contradicts the over 40 "Church Lady" image. lol
