God this grips my schytt! Why "anti-ageing"...? What's so sick, wrong, horrific about ageing? It's a wonderful natural process which brings better and stronger beauty - both inside and out - and creates wrinkles, creases and laughter lines!

Ageing is promoted by the beauty industry as alien, undesirable, bad, wrong and preventable.

It's none of those things, and it's about phekking time people got used to it!

health supplements? Unnecessary if you eat well, live well, don't mess your body up with self-inflicted toxins and breathe deeply, drink plenty of water and generally have a good diet.

Aging is nice, but aging gracefully is even nicer!

I swear on olive oil (food, face, body, nails, hair) and almond oil (face, eyes, makeup remover, body, nails, hair). They give a nice glow. For creams, I seek for ones that have squalene in them (its slippery and does not clog my pore).

For cellulite, Weleda birch oil is AMAZIIING! Makes the skin so smooth.

Yoga.

Oh, for supplements I take cranberry extract because I used to suffer from UTI often.

It's just two words put together. Nothing wrong with aging, but nothing wrong with taking care of yourself as you go along either. Nearly interested in what others use to make the of what they have.

As for self inflicted toxins, well I'm all about moderation and enjoying life. A life of eating nothing but organic vegetables it is not living to me. I enjoy my food and I enjoy the odd glass of something, why should I stop doing things I enjoy? However I can try to be the healthiest moderator by taking supplements to, as the suggests supplement my diet.

We all know that we cannot, unless we give up work and move to deepest Mongolia, avoid all toxins and environmental damage to us as it is everywhere we go and in everything we eat.

It's the 'anti' I strongly object to. 'Anti' means 'against' and I think people need re-educating,

100% agreed. Everything in moderation: including moderation! :D

Mongolia's too cold for my liking. Can't we find somewhere just as remote and unspoiled, but just a bit warmer? it's better for the skin..... :p

My clinique range for men. I think its whatever makes you feel good. I think everyone hates aging. I always feel more confident if i scrub up a bit. And in my experience the women i have been been involved with have appreciated that i have more than 4 products in my bathroom. My work means i have to be aware of appearance (My appearance). But its very personal i guess.

I really like Dermalogica products. I use the moisturiser ('active moist') because I have oily skin and it doesn't contain oil so I don't get spots. I also like their clay for cleansing. I use face scrub every other day (on gym days basically) and the Dermalogica cleanser on others. It's not cheap but greasy creams (which is most cheaper moisturisers) don't work for me.

Coconut oil for my face, it can be used as a makeup remover as well. I also put it in smoothies because it helps from the inside out. Same thing with aloe vera gel. Put it in smoothies too :).

I use cetaphil as a facewash and recommend it to all different face types.

And I always use a good body lotion with no fragrances, as alcohol.xan dry out the skin. I prefer a body lotion with cocoa butter and aloe.

My ex used to comment on how incredibly soft my skin was. I am one of those age gracefully types. I cannot combat aging but I can.be proactive about keeping my skin nice and healthy looking.

One more, I use one part honey, one part granulated sugar and obe part olive oil to make an awesome at home lip scrub. Gotta keep them soft and kissable especially on this unforgiving weather :)

Oh yes! Coconut oil is amazing. It also gives a nice glow to the skin, like olive oil (but has such a better smell -- cant get enough of it!). I used to have a jar and apply it during summertime, before an evening out (If you have a slight tan, the result is... mm m m). It's also great for dry hair, I have very curly hair and i leave some here and there after my hair has dried. Now that you reminded me I'll buy another jar.

Oh, by the way jojoba oil had helped balance my oily forehead. It also dried out some persisent small bumpy pimples I had there. After some days they just fell off (and I had them for long time).

When I don't have much money I make linseed (flax seed) hair gel. It's a bit yucky (like uncooked egg white) but makes hair silky and has a nice hold. I'm going to make some now actually.

I also used to make my own body lotion, with rose water, beeswax and a mix of oils (coconut, olive oil, cocoa butter). I also used to add rose, lavender or vanilla essential oil, a capsule of vitamin e and a bit of grapefruit seed extract as a preservative. I'm a sucker for beauty recipes. I want to learn how to make soap. But it's an expensive hobby and I stopped it (for now).

I keep lapsing when it comes to skin or hair care. I use coconut oil when I remember to, and flax in smoothies or yogurt - that used to help to ease tangles, and make my hair shine (my Dad once gasped, and was about to ask me when I had got all of that white hair, only to realize that it was reflecting the window  - now it's in awful shape).

I used to love St. Ive's Collagen Elastin. It made my skin feel so soft, but it makes my eyes water.

Makeupalley.com reviews everything. If you don't find a product that has been reviewed you can ask on their various boards. Those reviews have saved me a lot of money.

The cheapest anti-aging remedies are sunscreen and plenty of sleep.

I think the most important ways to look healthy and radiant for years are to have a good, clean diet, and be as active as you can.

From there, I have found that a simple regimen of beauty treatments works best for me. I use a gentle cleanser, and moisturize my face and body with simple lotions and oils. I like Nivea Soft for my face - inexpensive, effective, and smells very good, like a Finnish spa. I mix my own body oil with rose or essential oil blends. Olive oil, grape seed oil, jojoba, or sweet almond oil.

Olive oil is also great as a conditioning treatment for hair in the shower, mixed with your conditioner. A drop rubbed into the ends after blowdrying makes it soft and shiny.

I just read a tip somewhere that said rub yourself down with body oil before showering, and it'll just soak in with the heat and give you a deep moisture treatment while you're showering. I'm gonna do that this evening - perfect snowy night for that.

When I get a sore, red nose in winter, I rub a little olive oil all over it, and it feels a million times better within a few minutes.

Olay for the 30+ age group, blue lotion that is cheap and not bad, smokers like me are grateful for small mercies, here the cream does not quite stop the lines, but it heals cuts, from bad tweezing, in an amazing way

Great topic!

I have sensitive skin prone to flaking when dry.

I love Evanhealy face cream (whipped shea butter with olive leaf). I get it at whole foods and use it as a night cream. It is very rich and the only product that keeps my skin mouisturized during the winter months.

Also love dermatologica -the age smart line - for my daily moisturizers.

Almond and coconut oils for makeup removal and all-purpose lotion.

My fave makeup is tart tinted moisturizer. It looks very natural, has spf 30, and does not dry out my skin or cause breakouts.

Taramaiden- I'm with ya on the marketing use of certain buzz words or gimmicks. Sadly folks "buy" into it before researching the validity....

It grips your schytt? Lol. Never heard that saying before.

On topic, I adore Cetaphil. Best cleanser ever, and super cheap.

My favorite cheap stuff for exfoliation and hydration; a paste from nutmeg and a bit of milk. I also like using the face brush from the body shop (not with nutmeg, with regular face wash).
