Devildog
Are you looking for some sort of evidence? If you are just having some computer issues I would say download a few freebie programs. Spybot Search and Destroy, Adaware and CWShredder. These 3 programs should remove any issues an antivirus program doesn't catch.
LucreziaBorgia
It depends on what is going on with your computer. It could be something in the registries, something in program files, something in the Windows folder, or System32 folder... What basically are you thinking is going on? debs
If you have Nortons System works on your computer and you have Norton protecting you recyclable bin then yes you possibly can see what the person tried to delete! Right click the recyclable bin and hit the UN erase! Now if you had a program that wipes the registry and things then this will not be of any use to you!~ I wish you luck as I am guessing here that you want to see what the person did while on your computer!?! wiseOLDman
1. Run a spyware program- ad-aware or spybot- both are freeware. 2. Run your antivirus scan but make sure you've updated your definition files 3. Right click on your "C-Drive" and look for Analyze or Defragment. You'll want to run analyze and the system will tell you if you need to run Defrag. You may also want to purchase a "Window Washer" program that will scan and delete each time you boot up. Pocky
i am having some serious issues with my personal computer that i let someone use. is there anyway i can check the hard drive (or anything related) to see exactly what activity has gone on? don't tell my to check the internet options, because i know that the cookies etc. can be deleted from the temporary folder. what do i do? someone help! What are you trying to find? Internet sites that have been visited? Documents that have been written? Or are you having problems with your computer (i.e., locking, crashing, unable to access applications, etc.)? I'd have to say you're searching for information so you need to tell us what type of information you're looking for and what operating system you use (XP, 2002, ME, etc.) if you want advice on what to do. Also - while you can delete the cookies from internet options, it takes a lot more to delete the history from the index.dat file. This is generally found on the C drive under a folder called Documents and Settings. Depending on how you have your user profile set up you'll need to locate a file called Cookies. In that file there will be an index.date file. Open this file, if it asks you with what application, pick Notepad. Once it's open it will look like computer jargon, but if you look through the code, you will see sites that have been visited. While this file does receive an overwrite with time, if the activity is recent you should see the web pages still listed there. You can delete this file, but it's not easy - you can't just click on it and delete.

agnf666
Now... Computer Q do you think you may have a virus or something. If you don't really tell us what your problem is then we can really help you out. I have a few things for you to do. Now, forget about ad-aware and spybot. They suck. Adaware messed up when of my clients modems. There is no real possible way of looking at what someone has done on your computer if they where not online. If they where on the internet then you can check the history. If this is a Windows XP then you can check and see if there are new programs or something that have been installed to your system. If this person was looking at porn then you probably got spyware or a virus running in the background in your computer and you don't even know it.
