Feeling kinda dumb. She's scared of commitment

OK, i made a post on here a few weeks back and everything was supposed to have been set straight and i was gonna try NC. Well, i shot that idea to hell after she instant messaged me on AIM. I called her twice after that New Years and one other time a few days later. Now, being the super-intelligent person that i am, I ignored everyone's advice.

I went to her house, taped a sign to her bedroom window with some lyrics from a love song, put a rose there, and played the song "All my life". It was actually pretty romantic, anyway, i guess the real reason she broke up with me is because she's scared of commitment. She likes me and knows any problems we had could be worked out, but she says she doesnt want a boyfriend now. The thing is, she can't explain to me why. If she had some sensical reason, i'd be like i see, ok, i understand...but she cant tell me why.

I talked to her best friend and i basicly came to the conclusion that she is scared of commitment. She basicly told her best friend she would just be single all her life...and yeah, maybe it wont be with me, but i dont think its good for her to say shes gonna be single forever. but, anyway, is there away to kinda,i dont know, convince her that she shouldnt be afraid?? we're both still very young, so im not like, talking about marrying this girl, it of course, could happen, but thats not my current thinking.

I would really like to get back together with her, especially beacuse she still likes me and all, but if she's afraid to commit i dont think it can happen. Do i just need to let her go and hope, or is there something i can try to do to convince her that she shouldnt fear commitment?

women have drilled into society's head that only MEN are afraid of commitment...

this is total fallacy because in reality just as many women as men are afraid of commitment, esp when they have been burned a few times.
